APR 23, 13 .. MY HOTEL IN UDHAGAMANDALAM ..

I am safely into UDHAGAMANDALAM!  

UDHAGAMANDALAM has a 'nickname'! Evidently the people who live here wanted to 'shorten-up' its name .. so they did just that.

I suppose somewhere someplace sometime .. maybe it was the British during the 'Raj' period .. a group of elders sat down and said .. after long and difficult debate .. let's now call UDHAGAMANDALAM .. 'OOTY' ..

Seldom are things this easy in India.  On many if not most of the maps of Tamil Nadu .. you see the name UDHAGAMANDALAM not OOTY.

So let's just-go-with 'OOTY'!

How about two photos of the exterior of my Hotel Sapphire Paradise.

Well how about two more!  Now this .. THIS is silly!  I hung my shirt (top floor yellow shirt) out of my window so you all can see 

MY room.

Inside the Hotel Sapphire Paradise they have some nice murals between floors.

Now a look at the main lobby.

OK!  Now let's have a 'look-see' at my room here at the Hotel Sapphire Paradise. The bed has only a bottom sheet.  You sleep directly under the blanket.

 The below photo gives you a 'glimpse' of my view.  Much more on my view down below!

Now we walk to the other-side-of-the bed and shoot the below photo back at the entry door.

Above .. on the right side of the photo close to the door .. is a closet.  Below you see the closet a bit clearer.

Here is the interior.

And now we turn to the 'necessary-room'.

Above .. just inside the door .. notice a hose and a spigot.  This is unusual .. it allows you to very effectively 'wash yourself'.  Below is the bathroom sink.  It is a small bathroom.

It never seems-to-change here in India .. you take-a-shower and you 'shower the floor'!

Overall I am very pleased with my room here in UDHAGAMANDALAM .. Opps!  In 'Ooty'!
