Right up front I want to thank Ginny in Laughlin, Nevada, for assisting me to get Tim's photos downloaded here into Google Blogspot.

What is a Roadrunner?

You will see it spelled Roadrunner as well as Road Runner.

Let's ask Wikipedia!

The roadrunners (genus Geococcyx), also known as chaparral birds or chaparral cocks, are two species of fast-running ground cuckoos with long tails and crests. They are found in the southwestern and south-central United States, Mexico and Central America, usually in the desert. Although capable of flight, and they do indeed fly sometimes, roadrunners generally run away from predators. On the ground, some have been measured at 32 km/h (20 mph).

Below are a few photos of Roadrunners.

Below is the Looney Tunes cartoon Roadrunner.

Let me tell each and everyone of you, if you aren't familiar with Roadrunners, these little rascals can really run. I mean they can really run fast. And they tend to "hang out in small groups".

I did not think it possible that a Roadrunner would get even close to a human being! These little rascals are way beyond "super skittish".

Do you want amazing?

Now for amazing!

Meet our great friend and ally Tim down in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Tim sent us the below photo!

Sitting on Tim's knee, as he sits on his porch, is one of Tim's pet Roadrunners!

Impossible Tim! You must be doing some trick photography!

Tim has a real sense of humor. He has named his tame Roadrunners.

The Roadrunner in the above photo is a male  named "Road".

Roadrunners "Mate for Life". Tim calls Road's wife "Runner".

Sometimes (being a lady) Runner washes her hair and lets it dry in the warm desert sun!

Road and Runner are currently raising a chick named Beep Beep.

Well Hello Beep Beep! You are hungry!

Amazing Tim !!

Absolutely, Positively, Amazing !!

Thank you so VERY, VERY, MUCH Tim, for sharing your Roadrunners with all of us!
