Living here in Alaska can be a HOOT!
Anchorage is THE major city here in the State of Alaska. The estimated population for the entire State of Alaska is 736,000 people. The population of Anchorage is 300,000 people so it represents roughly forty one (41%) of the total population of the entire state.
The next two largest cities in the State of Alaska are Fairbanks and Juneau. These two Alaskan cities are almost tied in a dead-heat each with a population of approximately 32,000 people. So the second and the third place (population-wise) cities are each about ten (10%) of the size of Anchorage and the second and third largest cities each individually represent only four (4%) of the state's total population.
After the above 'top-three' cities .. come the cities of Sitka (9,000), Ketchikan (8,000), Wasilla (8,000), Kenai (7,000), Kodiak (6,000), Bethel (6,000) and so on.
Do YOU-GET-THE-IDEA? .. Anchorage is overwhelmingly the largest city in the State of Alaska.
Yet Anchorage is a pretty SMALL city based upon the rest of the United States as well as upon a World-Wide Scale!
To prove my theory that .. to some extent .. even 'Los Anchorage' (a term those in Alaska who don't live in Anchorage use to disparage Anchorage making it akin to 'Los Angeles' that mighty behemoth in Southern California!) is a small or a 'hick' town consider the following.

Most of you reading along here with me have squirrels and other smallish animals. Here we have Moose who will grow in size from this small 'yearling' to about 1,200 pounds for a large male.

My 'battle' with Google Blogspot continues. I want all of my photos to be the extra-large size of the topmost photo above. Heretofore all of my photos used to be this extra-large size. For reasons I do not know nor understand .. Google Blogspot is refusing-to-allow-me to make all of my photos extra-large in size! I prefer that you do NOT have to quickly 'double-click' on the smaller photos to enlarge them for better viewing.
THIS IS WHY I AM NOW USING MY OTHER WEB-SITE .. baba kaps doxology .. more and more because my brilliant web-master for my other web-site has enabled me to post continuously large photographs.
