This Post is dedicated to Galina, the kind curator and founder of The Museum of History of Development of the Settlement Zhatay located in the small town of ZHATAY / ЖАТАЙ Russian Siberia.
ZHATAY lies about 21 km Northwest of Yakutsk / ЯКУТСК. The drive takes about 30 minutes depending on the traffic coming out of Yakutsk.
I discovered this small museum while studying Trip Advisor for some special yet remote attractions in the Yakutsk area.
A visit to Zhatay fit perfectly into my schedule because I was visiting Kangalassy / КАНГАЛАССЫ and Zhatay is on the same highway.
What an amazing experience it was to visit this museum.
As we were leaving, Galina presented me with a book about ЖАТАЙ.
