NOV 10, 25.. ARIZONA and ALASKA..BEGINNING OF WINTER 2025-26..

As all of you who follow us on our dotnet website (babakaps.net) know, Patti and I are fortunate to be spending another winter down here in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

The photos below show you current scenes in Anchorage, Alaska (snow), and Arizona (sun).

How about our Anchorage Suburban!

Last October the 31st.

Now look at him.

Down here in Arizona, many people, if not most, call we Winter Visitors "Snowbirds".

This is incorrect. 

"Snowbirds" would seek snow and go North. 

We are "Sunbirds" down here seeking the sun.

When I explain this to local residents, they all agree.

Cap and Patti your very own, extremely happy, "Sunbirds".

OCT 23, 23 (2/3) .. CAN A MOOSE BE A "GUEST CONTRIBUTOR" TO A POST?

 "Way Back" in the year 1956, there was a movie about the life of middleweight boxing legend Rocky Graziano.

The title of the movie was : Somebody Up There Likes Me.

There are days that I feel the exact same feeling :  Somebody Up There Likes Me!

The problem is this : IF I even start to attempt to recite the numerous times that my life has been positively enhanced by "Somebody Up There", it would be an impossible task. 

Here is where I am going with this. As the time passes, I keep thinking "Do I have anything to contribute here on our website?"

Then, possibly because "Somebody Up There Likes Me" I keep having events occur that I think just maybe someone would like to see them.

Witness : Many of you enjoy seeing photos of our local Moose in action.

Truth be told it is Patti, not yours truly, who sees them and squeels "Cap see the Moose".

For the second time in a few days, this just now happened.

We were sitting in our living room, looking out..

When Patti suddenly exclaimed "There is the Mother Moose again!". 

I leapt up, grabbed my smart phone and "in a twinking" Mother Moose was gone.

I then dashed out to our front porch and "caught her" as she slowly ambled past our front porch.

As I showed in Part 1, when I snapped the photos in this Post, I was standing where you see Patti standing at our Building's Front Door.

Here comes Mother Moose, slowly ambling past our porch.

Today she did not turn and come up on our porch. She just continued to walk past me heading towards our street.

Hummmm, thinks Mother Moose, I think I'll have a little snack!

And off across our street she ambles.

Meanwhile, her Spring Calf has gone to check out our next door building. Can you see her back side?

Nothing over here she decided! Over towards me and her mom she strolls.

She is on a mission!

OCT 18, 23 (1/3) .. CAN A MOOSE BE A "GUEST CONTRIBUTOR" TO A POST?

Can a Moose be a "Guest Contributor to a Post?"

Why not? 

This Post would not exist without another visit from our local Moose. So this Mother Moose and her "Spring Calf" are indeed "Guest Contributors"!

Yes I am "Keeping up". Yes I know that you have seen the below photos in a previous Post. BUT they are a nice "lead into this Post".

The below four photos were taken in our backyard "Green Strip".

Patti and I were just laying in bed when, "What to Patti's wondering eyes should appear at our Bedroom Window!" but a Moose!

So I "Leapt up out of bed, grabbed Patti's smart phone and snapped the next two photos" right outside our bedroom window.

Please notice that the Moose is heading off to the right.

Then it disappeared, off to the right, and out of view from our bedroom window.

"Again I leapt up, and dashed out to our front door to see what I could see!"

The below three photos, taken after the Moose and her Spring Calf had gone across the street, give you a perspective as to where all of the below photos were taken.

In the below photo, do you all see Patti, standing just inside of our front door?

That is exactly, precisely where I was standing as I snapped all of the below photos!

Well Hello Mother and Spring Calf. Right in front of me! They certainly did NOT dash off when I came to the door!!

In the next photo, the Mother seems to be looking down at something.

She finds it and begins to lick it.

After the two Moose had left, I went outside and explored the area the Mother was licking.

There is absolutely no reason that either Patti or I can see why she was licking away at the above area! 

It's a "Go Figure!" issue. And off the two of them wandered across our street!
