JUL 18, 20 .. ONE YEAR AGO TODAY .. WE WERE IN HONG KONG .. PART 6 .. AP LEI CHAU

Here we have Part 6 of a series of posts with a look back at when we were in Hong Kong one year ago today, July 18, 2019.

So far we've re-visited the Star Ferries (Part 1), Victoria Harbor (Part 2), some Hong Kong Buildings (Part 3), Victoria Peak (Part 4) and several Hong Kong Restaurants (Part 5).

AP LEI CHAU

Ap Lei Chau is a small island on the south side of the much larger Hong Kong Island and is located directly South of the city of Aberdeen.

There is a Bridge over from Aberdeen to Ap Lei Chau Island but the fun way to go there is on a small sampan. We have very good friends, Grant and Keller and Rambo, who live on Ap Lei Chau. Below are photos of the sampan itself along with some scenery one views on the ten minute ride.

Grant sent me the two below night photos of the above scene on May 9th 2022. So I went back-in-time and have slipped them in here.

Well there you have a little visit to Hong Kong's Ap Lei Chau Island. To say we love and we miss Hong Kong is one great understatement.

JUL 28, 17 .. A DOG NAMED RAMBO, ICE CREAM AND ABERDEEN'S WATERWAY

You all have met Grant and Keller. 

Grant and Keller have a small dog named Rambo.

Actually Rambo is Grant's dog. It figures. Keller may not know who Sylvester (Rambo) Stallone is.

I am a dog-person from the get-go. In general I have found that dogs seem to sense dog-people and know they are safe with a dog-person.

For some odd reason, when I visit Grant and Keller, Rambo has taken to barking, and barking, and barking some more each and every visit.

Are you ready for this?

During a recent visit with Grant and Keller (Rambo did his usual barking routine at me) I lay down and took a nap. 

At age 80 and counting, one loses some of one's embarrassment about their personal, simple facts of life. When I need to take a nap, I mean, I NEED TO TAKE A NAP! Ask Patti about this fact of my life.

Whoa! 

I could not believe it!

Grant could not believe it!

Keller could not believe it!

Even Rambo himself could not believe it!

As I was drifting off to sleep, little Rambo just snuggled up beside me and settled-down with me in a most friendly and comforting way.

"What's that you say blogspot?" .. 

"You are liking these informal Posts, similar to those I publish over on Dot.Net?"

In my Post JUL 24, 17 about our after-dinner-desserts, and my Ice Cream Sundae, I failed to point out the super special sundae spoon that the HONEYMOON DESSERT cafe provided with the sundae.

When I saw the sundae coming, I wondered how on earth I would be able to get to the very bottom of the special sundae glass to completely finish the sundae. 

A most special sundae spoon solved that concern.

This might very well be a chain of ice cream cafes. 

I hope that this will not be my last visit to the HONEYMOON DESSERT CAFE in Aberdeen, Hong Kong.

Meet the wonderful, meet the phenomenal, meet the amazing, Aberdeen, Hong Kong, waterway!

One (pardon the pun) 'navigates' Aberdeen with a water taxi.

Off we all go for a nice cruise on the Aberdeen waterway.

So very nice to have had you along with us My Dear One.

Once ashore there is a wonderful park strip beside the harbor!
