DEC 11, 15 .. MORE RESTAURANT PASSION IN HONG KONG ..

I added the word RESTAURANT to the above title so the 'censors' do not get touchy with me. The title .. 'MORE PASSION IN HONG KONG' could get me X-rated! 

IF one visit is good then two visits must be better. Last week Patti and I visited the Passion Restaurant here in Kowloon across Victoria Harbor from Hong Kong. The two of us just couldn't wait to get back for a second visit.

The above photo will help you to find the Passion Restaurant in the below 'street view' photo of it. You are looking at Mody Road off Nathan Road in Kowloon on a busy late Friday afternoon.

Last week we two ate at the inside table with chairs that have backs.

Patrons usually sit on tall stools.

This afternoon we ate at the outdoor seating area you see below and in the first photo at the beginning of this post.

Time to show you more faces of the Passion Restaurant.

Last week I mentioned that they have a sandwich counter. Below are photos of this area. 

Some sandwiches are ready made. You can also order a sandwich made-to-your-specifications.

Patti ordered Lox with cream cheese on special dark rye sourdough bread. Her sandwich is on the plate in the upper left of the below photo. She really enjoyed her sandwich.

Oh Yes! They also have desserts that I did not show in my previous post.

 They really have a fancy selection of sweets.

As I did last week .. I ate off the salad bar. 

Tomatoes with cheese and garlic. Curry chicken salad. Tuna pasta salad. Potatoes with peas and spices. Three slices of their phenomenal breads. Patti's Lox sandwich with cream cheese is on the top plate.

And when I snapped the above photo .. Will you all just look at who suddenly appeared and said .. "Will you take our photo."

DEC 5, 15 .. A LOT OF PASSION IN HONG KONG ..

Passion has many faces.

One of my passions is eating.

In the above and below photos you can see a small outdoor dining area. We opted to eat inside.

It is silly of me to feel inanimate things have feelings. Of course I know that they do NOT have feelings but I still feel like they do. Thus my mental non-verbal communication with them continues unabated.

Great start here Captain. Do you suppose that you have lost all of your followers without even having gotten out of the 'Starting Gate' ?  

Your followers here on Blogspot are simply not used to this sort of 'jive'.

Truth be told Captain .. We followers here on Blogspot are just happy to see something .. anything .. here on Blogspot because we are feeling like we are playing 'second fiddle' to dotnet ..

Thank You Oh God Of Abraham for giving to me the greatest Chiropractor in all of the world. Doctor Sunny.

A week ago .. as both Patti and I were benefiting from his amazing chiropractic skills .. Doctor Sunny casually mentioned that one of his most favorite restaurants here in the Hong Kong metro area was Passion.

IF at first you don't succeed .. Try Try Again. Our first effort to find Passion was a week ago. Doctor Sunny said that it was across from the mega-center K-11. It isn't. Well we finally found Passion. It is not across Mody Road from K-11 but it is up the street in the next block. BUT it was Friday night and you could not even get inside of the restaurant.

Back to my communication with inanimate objects. The City of Kowloon is telling me to tell all of you that Passion is located in KOWLOON and NOT in Hong Kong.

Where was I and where was I going? Got it. 

Let's all go inside of Passion. It is really warm and friendly.

Patti and I went into the restaurant about 3:30PM. As you will note in the above photo they have stools to sit upon. However they do have one table with chairs with backs. We waited only about ten minutes for this great table beside the street to open up for us to sit down.

Above Patti is looking to her left at one of several assortments of foods you order. There is a sandwich bar also. 

You select the foods you wish to eat and they are weighed to determine the price. I have no idea of what we paid per ounce.

Our total bill was HKG $ 131 or US $ 16.90.

They are really 'into' bread. Their bread is absolutely  PHENOMENAL.

They take great pride in their bread.

To put it mildly .. eating at Passion was one of the best dining experiences of our lives.

MAY 10, 15 .. THE NAN LIAN GARDEN ..

Were it not for Patti's niece Eryn and her Her Man Jason I would NEVER have discovered these two PHENOMENAL sites .. THE NAN LIAN GARDEN and THE CHI LIN NUNNERY ..

The NAN LIAN GARDEN and the CHI LIN NUNNERY are a Tang Dynasty Buddhist Temple joint attraction. The two are located in the Diamond Hill District of Kowloon a city across Victoria Harbor from Hong Kong.

The NAN LIAN GARDEN (on the right side of the below photo) is located directly across from the CHI LIN NUNNERY (on the left side of the below photo). The two are joined by a raised walkway structure across Fung Tak Road.

One of several methods to get to the two attractions is to ride the Hong Kong MTR to the Diamond Hill Station.

As you walk out of the Diamond Hill MTR Station .. there are several references to the two sites ..

It takes approximately 15-minutes to walk from the Diamond Hill MTR Station to the two sites.

Just in case any of you think these exquisite sites are located out in a remote area of Kowloon ..

GUESS AGAIN !

I am here-to-tell-you that these kind folks KNOW HOW to dress-up their gigantic city! The freeways not withstanding!

My hat is OFF to the local City Planners!

Pavillion of Absolute Perfection (Golden Pavillion) located in the center of a reflecting pool (The Lotus Pond).

Yes Indeed! We are in the heart of an enormous city!

The Pavillion of Absolute Perfection .. The Golden Pavillion ..

Now I am walking away from the Pavillion.  I will circle the garden and at the bottom of this Post I will come back to the other side of the Pavillion and show more photos of it.

I feel it is the Center Piece of NAN LIAN GARDEN.

If you look very closely at the above photo .. You can see that there is actually a restaurant behind the water falls!

The below photo .. Is a photo of a photo in the garden.

Now I have come full circle through the garden and have arrived back at the Pavillion of Absolute Perfection that I showed you near the beginning of this Post.

Find the bridge across Fung Tak Road at the top of the map .. Now come directly straight down and you will see the Pavillion of Absolute Perfection (The Golden Pavillion) in the center of The Lotus Pond reflecting pool.

Below you can see the Pavillion on the right between the two red Zi Wu Bridges leading to it.

I will now approach the Pavillion from its opposite side.

I have walked up onto the bridge across Fung Tak Road and am looking down upon the Pavillion.

The stone structure is the base of the bridge across Fung Tak Road.
