APR 24, 26 (4 / 4) .. SPRING IS HERE.. WINTER IS LOSING ITS GRIP..

Our temperatures are now in the high 30's into the low 40's. 

But with some light rain and some snow, after being in Arizona for the past 5-1/2 months, it still "feels very cold" to Patti and me.

On April the 18th..

Notice the Electrical Box is surrounded by snow.

On April the 19th, one day later, the Electrical Box is now clear of snow. 

Just look at today! Friday, April the 24th !!

In the below three photos, I will show another sequential series of photos on the same dates as the above photos. 

Look for the white, Roof Drain Gutter, along the lower left side of  each photo to compare the three days.

APR 19, 26 (3 / 4) .. SPRING IS HERE BUT WINTER IS HANGING ON..

 It IS warming up.

The temperature has been running in the 34°F range.

Yesterday, when looking out from our living room at the Green Strip behind our Condo, this is what we saw.

Do you see the Electrical Utility Box on the left side of the above photo. It is surrounded by snow. 

In the below photo it is now surrounded by brown grass.

Looking across our Green Strip yesterday we saw the below scene.

 Focus on the white drain pipe near the ground on the left below.

In the below photo, you can see the snow has receded.

And? 

Patti and I are still "Desert Rats". After spending the recent 5-1/2 months in the Arizona Desert we are cold. 

Still smiling and happy to be home in Anchorage, Alaska.

APR 18, 26 (2 / 4) .. SPRING IS HERE BUT WINTER IS HANGING ON..

Patti and I are "Desert Rats" after 5-1/2 months in sunny and warm Arizona.

We have been shivering cold here when we go outside and get into a our cold truck.

I did a second "Photo Shoot" later today to augment the photos you have already seen in Part 1 of this 2 Part Post.

I posted the below photo in Part 1.

In the middle of the above three vehicles, is a white car.

Behind this white car, in the background, is a rather large pile of snow.

Now I want to take a closer look at that pile of snow.

This is quite a large pile of snow. It was created by the plowing of snow in our parking lot. The snow has to go someplace and this pile is one such place.

Now, from the street, we see our building and more snow.

In the below photo, almost directly ahead, is our Condo.

In the below photo, on the left is the entrance into our building. Our Condo is to the right at ground level.

In the summer it looks like you see below.

When we come home from Costco, with a large quantity of groceries, I take them from our Suburban right up to the window. Patti will take them from me and I will go back for more.

Today we made a Costco trip. There is absolutely no way that I can just go to the above window. 

But! I can get to the window with groceries on the below snow free path (the width of a shoe) against our building.

All in all, winter is still a real factor in our lives back here in Anchorage.

 Saturday, April the 18th 2026.

This past Thursday night, late, Patti and I arrived back home after spending this past winter down in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Being "Desert Rats" we are quite cold with near freezing temperatures.

The below photos, taken from, and around our Condo, plainly show that the evidence of this past Winter still remains.

Now we walk around to our front porch and look at the snow there.
