JUL 29, 26.. NOW BACK TO JUL 29, 2010 with GULLIBLE

Here we all go!

Back with Gullible to July the 29th, 2010..

A very, very intense Blast From Gullible's Past..

Not every day in her life has been flowers and birds and wonderful Safari visits to far away lands!

Stumbling through the Alzheimer’s Memorial Garden

Can’t you control him, angry eyes demand

As he stumbles through the flowers. I will

Try to corral him before he tramples more,

Even though a scream lies fallow in my heart.

I’m too tired to care, whether about tomorrow

Or what they think. I’m just trying to cope.

JUL 22, 20 .. ONE YEAR AGO TODAY .. WE WERE IN HONG KONG .. PART 8 .. STANLEY

Here we have Part 8, the final part of a series of posts with a look back at when we were in Hong Kong one year ago today, July 22, 2019.

So far we've re-visited the Star Ferries (Part 1), Victoria Harbor (Part 2), some Hong Kong Buildings (Part 3), Victoria Peak (Part 4), several Hong Kong Restaurants (Part 5), Hong Kong's Ap Lei Chau District (Part 6), and the SOGO Department Store in Hong Kong's Causeway Bay District (Part 7).

Stanley is on the South Side of Hong Kong Island.

When you bring up the below link, at the top left (by pressing the small arrow that points left) you can collapse the side panel of the below map showing the location of Stanley (very near the bottom of the map below Repulse Bay).

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Hong+Kong/@22.2535381,114.1813759,13z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x3403e2eda332980f:0xf08ab3badbeac97c!8m2!3d22.3193039!4d114.1693611

We will begin with some photos taken from the bus as we traveled en route from Hong Kong's Central District South to Stanley.

We never tire of seeing the many magnificent buildings in Hong Kong.

Into the tunnel  through the mountain in the central part of Hong Kong Island we go.

The drivers of the buses and trucks are very skilled in navigating the very narrow roadway.

We have arrived in Stanley.

At the bottom of the above map, do you see Stanley Main Street?

Now we'll look at Stanley Bay.

Now we'll look at some shops bordering Stanley Bay.

Now we will go into The Stanley Waterfront Market. For many visitors to Stanley, this is the main attraction.

We are now inside of The Stanley Waterfront Market.

I would be surprised if I photographed 50% of this enormous market.

The time has come to leave Stanley and enjoy the ride back into Hong Kong Central.

Well there-you-have our visit to Stanley. Hong Kong is one incredible place .

On this trip, Patti joined me in Seoul, South Korea, in mid February of 2019. We two then flew to Russian Siberia, where we had a flat in Irkutsk. We two remained in Siberia until early July when we flew to Hong Kong.

Sad for me to say, but the Time-Had-Come for Patti to leave Hong Kong and to head back to Alaska.

Knowing that this July 2019 trip could very well be our final visit to Hong Kong, we both have the deepest gratitude for all that we experienced during our visit.
