SEP 6, 19 .. VLADIVOSTOK .. THE RUSSKY (RUSSIAN) ISLAND BRIDGE

This past Sunday, September the 1st, I published a Post showing some photos of the Golden (Horn) Bridge here in Vladivostok.

I am here-to-tell-you that there are two other bridges in Vladivostok. The Russky (Russian) Island Bridge and the Amur Bay Bridge.

I crossed the Amur Bay Bridge on the way from, and then returning to, the airport. I did not shoot any photographs because it is basically a concrete highway over the bay with no towers of any style. In fact I did not even think about the fact that I was crossing the third longest bridge in all of Russia!

Last Saturday, August the 31st, the day that I snapped 393 photographs here in Vladivostok, I was able to cross the Russky (Russian) Island Bridge.

Below are some of the photos that I snapped.

I will begin by pointing out that the design of the bridge towers is significantly different in the two bridges.

I am going to begin with one, from-a-distance, photo of the Russky (Russian) Island Bridge. 

Notice the very top of the two bridge towers. The top is narrow and one piece.

In the below photo you can clearly see what I mean when I say that the tops of the Russky (Russian) Island Bridge towers are narrow and one piece.

Below is a from-a-distance photo of the Golden (Horn) Bridge.

Even from-a-distance (look at the right tower) you can clearly see the significant difference!

Here we go across the Russky (Russian) Island Bridge.

We have finished crossing over to Russky Island. 

Now we are going to turn around and head back.

Below is a photo that I should caption : 'Dumb Luck'. 

We went from crossing the bridge to the beach. 

I wrote Patti's name in the sand and in the below photo (without even realizing what I was doing) captured a nice, from-a-distance, photo of the bridge!

SEP 1, 19 .. VLADIVOSTOK .. THE GOLDEN (HORN) BRIDGE

Yesterday, Saturday the 31st of August, the sun finally came out after almost a week of rain and grey skies here in Vladivostok.

While-the-sun-shone, my friends here in Vladivostok took me out to do some serious sight-seeing. We really covered some ground!

After a six or so hour tour of the city, I'd snapped three hundred (300) ninety (90) three (3) photographs. Of course many are duplicates as I 'bracket' a lot of scenes with differing light and shutter speed settings. All of this being said, I now have the daunting task of sorting through three hundred and ninety three (393) photos.

This I know : It'll be just one photo at a time to review and I don't have to complete the task in this post today.

I'll begin with photos taken overlooking Vladivostok as viewed from several of the foremost viewing points high above the city.

You've already seen the below night photos but I am including them again so you can more easily compare the night and day scenes.

Below we are viewing the Golden Horn Bridge and Bay at night. 

The bridge is properly called the Golden Bridge (ЗОЛОТОЙ МОСТ) that spans the Golden Horn Bay (БУХТА ЗОЛОТОЙ РОГ).

Below we see the above views in the light of day.

Below we are looking to the left from the above views.

While the above scenes are still fresh-in-your-minds, I am going to show you several entirely different views of the Golden Horn Bridge and Bay.

I was not kidding when I said we really covered some ground!

Re title this post as :
