I left Pueblo, Colorado, last Monday, June the 5th. I was going to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to check into a pre-paid motel and stay three nights, checking out (today) June the 8th.
When I got to my motel in Colorado Springs (about 4pm), I was told that they were overbooked and that, in spite of having a paid-in-full guaranteed reservation with Priceline, I did NOT have a room and that I would have to call Priceline to get a refund.
I grabbed a footlong in a local Subway close to the above motel-from-hell and, with input from Patti, we two pondered my options.
I headed North up I-25 for Denver, Colorado.
Home of the Denver Broncos of the National Football League.
In Denver I got onto I-76 heading East for Nebraska.
Last Monday night, I slept in my truck at a small truck-stop in Crook, Colorado, very close to the Colorado / Nebraska border.
I always sleep well on 'my' mattress in the back of Black Beauty.
Tuesday morning I enjoyed breakfast in the front seat of my truck.
I said goodbye to 'Dino' ..
And I headed East on Interstate-76.
I pulled into the Colorado Welcome Center in Julesburg, Colorado..
And I spent the entire day, Tuesday, D-Day, June the 6th, on-line publishing three Posts on DOT.net.
Two very short miles East out of Julesburg, Colorado, I was into Nebraska.
Interstate-80. My goal.
I will ride I-80 all the way to Western Michigan or to Toledo, Ohio.
Tuesday evening, June the 6th, I arrived into North Platte, Nebraska.
And I checked into my North Platte, Nebraska, 'digs'.
What have I been doing here in North Platte, Nebraska.
Well, for one thing, I have been eating out.
And, I have been out-and-about sight-seeing tourist attractions.
Trust me on this statement :
For each photo below, there are at least five (5) more quality photos that I am not showing.
North Platte, Nebraska!
All in two (2) days!
"Whew!" is an understatement.
Still smiling .. Cap
