JAN 30, 19 .. MARIINSK / МАРИИНСК .. MUSEUM OF LOCAL LORE

The МАРИИНСК / MARIINSK Museum Of Local Lore is yet another 'find' on Trip Advisor.

The museum has moved.

The below five photos show its former building.

Its former building was steeped in time and tradition BUT Father Time overcame it and the museum had to be moved because the cost(s) of refurbishing it were prohibitive.

Below is the current location of the museum. They will NOT be returning to the above former home.

Back from 1180 to 1240 'give or take a few years' the Mongolian Empire of Chinggis Khan occupied this area as well as a lot of other territory in what is now modern Russia.

It is interesting that the below two figurines are definitely Mongolian in appearance.

Mike with the curator of the museum. She took great pride in showing us around.

Well Hello Mister Russian Bear!

Whew! Quite a visit to the Mariinsk Museum of Local Lore.

JAN 28, 19 .. TAYSHET (sound it as TAISHET) .. RUSSIAN SIBERIA

Today is Monday (this will be important later) January the 28th.

Tomorrow morning, Tuesday, January 29th at 9am (0900 hours), on the Trans-Siberian Railway, I will leave Tayshet Russian Siberia and return to Irkutsk, my home away from home in Siberia.

On my other website dot.net I explained that the proper pronunciation of Tayshet is Taishet.

How do I put this?

Taishet looks exactly, and Taishet looks precisely, how I expected Russian Siberia to look. This will be my last chance to show you some photos of Taishet.

I doubt very much that I shall ever return.

The below photos were snapped-at-random (that is to say, one right after another, NOT looking for special scenes or scenery) from the front seat of a taxi.

Below is where I was headed.

The Taishet Regional Museum of Local Lore.

"Strike Three batter! YOU are OUT!"

Open Tuesday through Saturday. CLOSED Sunday and Monday.

Today is a Monday! "Strike Three batter! YOU are OUT!"

In the lower right hand corner of the below photo, you can see a small statue.

Across the street from the museum, in front of a school, is a very basic monument to Vladimir Lenin.

Thank You Taishet Russian Siberia.

Here, in you-being-you, I finally found the Real Russian Siberia that I have been looking for and had, more or less, given up on finding.
