JAN 14, 19 .. NOVOSIBIRSK ( НОВОСИБИРСК ), RUSSIAN SIBERIA ..

Below you have two distinctly different Posts. 

Part 1 is a dialog about me and the Russian cyrillic alphabet.

Part 2 shows my apartment / flat here in Novosibirsk, Russian Siberia.

PART 1. NOVOSIBIRSK, RUSSIAN SIBERIA.

N O V O S I B I R S K

This becomes what I call a very VERY 'clean' translation from the above Russian cyrillic alphabet letters into the Latin, which is our English, alphabet letters.

By 'clean' I mean many of the Russian cyrillic letters sound exactly the same as do their counterparts in our alphabet.

H is N.. O is O.. B is V.. C is S.. И is I.. Б is B.. Р is R.. К is K..

Hush Gullible. I know that the И is not at all a clean ' i ' but an ' ee ' as in Tee.

It is 'clean' when you do not have to get into some of the other Russian cyrillic alphabet characters such as those below that are next to impossible for me to properly sound out.

Ж  Й  Ц  Ш  Щ  Ы  Ю  Я

The Я just slays me! It is a 'ya' or a 'yi' sound.

In English our word Alaska, looks to me like this in Russian cyrillic :

А Л А С К А

A L A S K A

Not the case at all. The Russians (who by the way named it) spell it :

А Л Я С К А

A L ia S K A

Coming here we stopped at МАРИИНСК

Which to me becomes M A R I  N S K.

All of the Russian railway train employees just kind of looked at me and nodded in the affirmative when I pointed to the above and proudly said : "We're in Marinsk."

I wanted them to shout at me : "Wow Captain! We're so impressed that you know the name МАРИИНСК sounds out as M A R I N S K to you!"

Just a stoic Russian 'nod'.

I texted, and then by phone, had Patti find МАРИИНСК on the map. She was able to do so!

PART 2. WELCOME TO MY FLAT. 

Here is my apartment .. Here is my flat .. in NOVOSIBIRSK or  НОВОСИБИРСК.

"Oh Captain Our Captain we thought you'd never get here what with the above cyrillic alphabet detour."

Below is the living room or my room here. 

Below is Mike's room. The real bedroom.

The kitchen.

In the below photo you see two doors.

Behind the first door (or the door on the left above) you have the toilet.

Behind the second door (or the door on the right above) you have the bath tub and washing machine.

Below is a photo of the entrance hallway. On the right edge of the below photo is the door to the toilet.

The kitchen is to the right up the toilet / bath tub hallway.
