Gord .. This one's for you my friend.
Gord 48025 asked me if I would post some photos of the interiors of some of the stores that I shop at.
No problem Gord.
Here's the thing. I basically only shop at my local supermarket. I am not out 'shopping per se'. I am out to get what I need in the way of food. Were I to just go into a store and start to snap photos, there could be some questions from the store staff. In fact even in stores where I am purchasing items, from time to time, I am advised that store policy prohibits photos.
This is not unique to Russia. This has happened to me in the United States. Often in fact. Because I am active on Trip Advisor, I am often taking photos in restaurants and other Trip Advisor attractions.
So here we go with a photo shoot of my local super market.
Below is your view as you enter the store.
Notice, if you will, that there is only an escalator UP. You ride up and you walk down.
Not to worry. My super market is on the street / ground level. No stairs either up or down.
I am going so show a lot of photos. I hope you really look closely at them and not just skip down. What I want you to see is that this is an enormous and magnificent super market.
In we go.
In this next photo, just look at how far the other end of this one section is!
Really, and I mean REALLY, good popcorn.
I've shown these photos on dot.net. Now you know where I saw this display. In my super market!
Books and magazines for Patti.
Will you all just look at the alcohol based liquid refreshment section.
The do-it-yourself checkout area.
A full pharmacy.
A selection of ATMs from a wide range of banks.
I've become friends with one of the store staff members. We each approve of the others hair style!
Well there-you-have-it Gord.
I've actually been wanting to do this post because I've told Patti many times what a fantastic super market I have at my disposal.

Now I can fully visualize what you have been telling me about this ENORMOUS and fully stocked store/SUPER market. I cannot imagine anyone not being able to find what they need. It is gorgeous! Glad Gord asked for photos of the inside of your market. Satisfied smiles ... Love, Patti
ReplyDeleteI was on-the-fence about taking the time and going to the effort to do a post showing this amazing super market. First taking the photos and then second doing this post. Both take a fair amount of time! Gord sure nudged me over the edge and now I am happy you (and others who may be interested) now CAN SEE how amazing this supper market is. It plays into my total amazement at what I am finding and seeing here in Russian Siberia. Much Love My Dear One .. Cap
DeleteThat is an amazing store. Clean and modern and well-stocked. I know what you mean about no photos. I was busted at the GUM in Moscow by several security personnel.
ReplyDeleteDefine you were busted at the GUM store in Moscow : Worst case scenario did they seize your camera? Did they just make you delete your recent photos? Best case scenario did they just warn you? It is an ever lurking danger and issue for sure. Smiles Cap
DeleteCap, Thank you for the tour of your super market, I'm impressed. Gord
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU GORD for asking for and suggesting that I show the interiors of some of the stores I frequent. Happy to do so. Had you not mentioned it I doubt I'd have done it. I shot a lot of photos (maybe 60) and with each single photo came the risk of a store employee coming up to me and warning me or taking some other action. I always look both ways for store personnel.
