You have to keep in mind that Woodward Avenue is NOT closed to the Public. So someone who "unwittingly" turned onto Woodward Avenue without realizing that The Dream Cruise was in progress, was in line for awhile.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is an annual automotive enthusiast event held in the northern suburbs of Detroit. Held each year on the third Saturday in August, the Cruise runs along Woodward Avenue, a major thoroughfare in the region, from Ferndale to Pontiac.

Our great friend from Laughlin, Nevada, Tom Tiger is back in Detroit visiting family and friends. 

Tom and his Grandson "Dec" are visiting the Dream Cruise today.

Tom's grandson is quite an athlete. Before the two of them headed over to check out The Dream Cruise, "Dec" played in a football game!

Now out and off to The Dream Cruise!

It is one, very nice day back in "The Motor City". Just a little bit "muggy" Tom said.

Tom, in a comment, pointed out that in the below photo you can see The Goodyear Blimp up in the sky.

MAY 31, 25.. THE DETROIT, MICHIGAN ZOO..

 Let's begin with a hearty..

Ginny's sister Linda lives in the Detroit Michigan Metropolitan area and it was Linda who snapped the below photos she snapped recently at the Detroit Zoo.

A small giggle. Actually the Detroit Zoo is not located in Detroit. It is located in the two Northern Detroit suburbs of Royal Oak and Huntington Woods about 12 miles due North of downtown Detroit.

The Detroit Zoo covers 125 acres and houses 2,000 animals of over 200 different species. It was opened August 1st 1928.

The Detroit Zoo's general admission cost is $27 for adults (ages 13-64) and $24 for youth (ages 2-12) and seniors (ages 65+) when purchased at the gate. 

However, tickets can be purchased online in advance for varying prices depending on the date and time of visit, ranging from $14 to $24 for adults and $12 to $21 for youth/seniors. Parking at the Detroit Zoo costs $8 per vehicle. 

Along with Ginny and Tom our Laughlin, Nevada friends, I was born in Detroit and raised in or near Royal Oak, so the Detroit Zoo is like a lifelong friend. Patti has also enjoyed several visits with me.

OCT 12, 24 ( 2 / 2 ) .. FOR "OUR" DETROIT TIGER BASEBALL FANS EVERYWHERE..

This past Wednesday, October the 9th, we published a Post about "Our" Detroit Tigers Major League Baseball Team. We labeled it Part 1 of 2 Posts.

Dating back to 2014, this is the first time in 10 years that "Our Tigers" have been in the MLB playoffs! 

So all of we "Tigers Fans" have been very excited that first, the Tigers were able to get into the playoffs, BUT then, traveling to Houston, Texas, on the road, the Tigers swept the Houston Astros out of the playoffs with two consecutive victories and advanced to play the Cleveland (formerly the Indians) Guardians in the five game Division Series.

All went very well. As we showed on October the 9th, The Tigers were one win away from moving on to the next round of the baseball playoffs.

On Thursday, October the 10th, Cleveland won a very close game 5 - 4 meaning the final (winner take all) game would be in Cleveland today, Saturday, October the 12th. 

Today Cleveland beat "Our Tigers" thereby ending our 2024 baseball season.

As you can see in the above "box score", in the top of the 5th inning, the Tigers scored first and were leading the game 1 - 0.

Then, in the bottom of the 5th inning, "The lights went out" and Cleveland exploded for five runs, adding additional runs in both the 7th and 8th innings to win 7 - 3.

In publishing this Post, Patti and I wanted "to process" the end of the 2024 season for the Tigers.

Be Glad You Had The Moment!

Patti and I texted Tom and Ginny the below message after the game was over.

Gratitude Tom, Ginny and Tigers Fans .. Be glad we had a moment, even two or three. A great moment.. We made the playoffs. More great moments.. on the road, IN Houston, we swept the Astros. Good moments against Cleveland.. we won games 2 and 3 and we led the series two games to one with a chance to clinch the series, at home in Detroit. Tiger Fans,  Cleveland won the series, the Tigers didn't give it away .. Your Allies. Cap and Patti 

See you next April 2025 for next years baseball season.

OCT 9, 24 ( 1 / 2 ) .. FOR "OUR" DETROIT TIGER BASEBALL FANS EVERYWHERE..

Today, yes today, Wednesday, the 9th of October 2024, "Our Detroit Tigers" took another big step as they move through this years MLB (Major League Baseball) Playoffs hoping to advance to the next round.

This is the first time in 10 years, dating back to 2014, that "Our Tigers" have been in the MLB playoffs.

Thanks to the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit News and numerous other online publications in the public domain, I am showing some of the many photos online.

Below is a chart of the 2024 MLB Postseason. "Our Detroit Tigers" are shown in the extreme, upper left corner.

In the first (Wild Card) round, "Our Tigers" defeated the Houston Texas Astros 2 games to none and moved into the current round (the ALDS American League Division Series) facing the Cleveland (formerly The Indians) Guardians.

With todays 3 - 0 victory, "Our Tigers" are one win away from advancing into the ALCS (American League Championship Series).

Tomorrow, in Detroit, they will again play Cleveland. If they win they advance.

How about this! 

Detroit Tiger Toms grandson, the apple of his eye, and Toms daughter, were at the game and will also be back tomorrow.
