AUG 20, 25.. A MOOSE VISIT TO OUR CONDO..

 We never know when one of our local Anchorage Moose will choose to stop by for a visit.

Patti and I were just relaxing early this evening, looking out at our lovely "Green Strip" from our living room.

When we have a Moose Sighting, 70% of the time it is Patti who sees the Moose and exclaims: "Cap! There is a Moose!"

Not today. In fact after I said to Patti "There is a Moose!" she got up from our living room couch and walked over to the above window and confirmed this evenings Moose visit.

When he looked up and saw me, this Yearling Moose was was on the go.

 

No! Oh No! I did not make any attempt to follow him! You never want to appear threatening to any wild animal.

Fun!

OCT 23, 24 .. YESTERDAY'S NEWSPAPER.. aka YESTERDAY'S MOOSE POST..

Today's Rhetorical Question.

Do I? Don't I?

Do I? Go back and show what I changed in yesterday's Moose Post today, a day later.

It's like Yesterday's Newspaper. None of you, not a single one of you, who have already read yesterday's Post, are going to go back to see IF I changed what you read yesterday!

Or don't I and just "skip it"?

Yes! Whang It!  I am going to do what I have been contemplating.

In response to two excellent comments we received from Michael and Ginny about being careful around wild Moose, I decided to add one additional photo with the below explanation about being careful around wild Moose to yesterday's Post.

Yesterday you saw the below photo.

Yes! In the above photo, I do look pretty close to the yearling.

Ah Hah!

Today I returned to yesterday's Post and inserted the below photo that clearly shows, at least in this instance, I had our Chevrolet Suburban truck between myself and the yearling.

I originally cropped the photo of the Suburban's hood for artistic photographic reasons.

So there you have it! The Rest of the Story.

OCT 22, 24 .. A MOOSE VISIT TO OUR CONDO.. OUR 13th ANNIVERSARY OF BOBBACAPS DOXOLOGY..

Yes! 

Patti and I both know we have published "Quite a few" Moose Posts here on Google blogspot. 

It has been one full year since our last visit and Moose Post. What to do when one comes for a rare visit?

So far I, your Captain, haven't been able to successfully resist following Gullible's advice.

"Cap! Take photos and publish them!"

Dum De Dum Dum.

Patti and I were sitting in our living room today when Patti said, "Oh Look Cap, there is a moose in the green strip."

Out I dashed with my smart phone to await a young, female yearling.

Sure enough! Out from between the buildings she casually strolled.

And up the sidewalk, heading directly for Your Captain she walked.

Who knows why, but she then veered off to her left and headed out towards the parking lot. This was good news for me. Here in Alaska, IF one has a functioning brain, one does NOT encourage a close encounter with a Moose!

Not that she was "all that far away from me"!

Out to the street she headed.

No human being knows what a young, female moose contemplates, but evidently she decided to "check out who I was and what I was doing!" Back she came.

Onward directly towards me she strolled.

Suddenly, she paused, then she turned around and strolled back out toward the street.

I have returned to this Post after publishing it and inserted the below photo as a response to two comments that I received about being very careful of Moose.

Originally you saw the above photo and yes! I look pretty close to the yearling.

However, you did not see the below photo that clearly shows, at least in this instance, I had our Chevrolet Suburban truck between myself and the yearling.

She stood quietly and contemplated what she wanted to do next.

Makes sense to me, she wanted to try to grab a tasty snack.

Then on up the street she headed.

Again she stopped, turned and looked directly at me!

Then a sideways glance at me.

Interesting how her front feet got crosswise! I thought only my feet did this!

Our visit was about to end.

We wonder IF even The Shadow Knows if this will be our final Moose Post!

At least for today it is!
