Just yesterday, October the 17th, I published a post titled 'Late Autumn in Anchorage, Alaska'. Overnight our first snow of the Winter 2020 - 2021 fell (more or less) ending our Autumn Season.
NO, the snow did NOT remain on the ground BUT it most definately was our first snow of the season.
It just happened that today is the day that I am scheduled to take my once-a-month risedronate medication. It is mandatory that I remain erect for an hour after swallowing the 150mg tablet so I thought I'd grab the moment and show you some photos I took during my risedronate walk this morning.

In the lower right foreground of the above photo, please notice that I used a 'walker' during my hour and a half walk. With my right arm and shoulder still causing me discomfort from my fall up in Manley Hot Springs last September the 27th, and my left arm experiencing a significant reaction to a shingles innoculation last Wednesday, I was in no mood to risk another fall. I also wore my bicycling helmet to protect my head should I fall. Below I took a 'selfie' showing my brilliant yellow jacket and cycling helmet cover.

Turning around 180° and looking the other way as I leave our condo's immediate area.I am at our rear parking lot.Now we are on the street in front of our condo. I will be walking forward now heading for Hillstrand Pond where we love to visit during the summer months.A look back at my 'walker'. At age 84 I harbor no false illusions that I did not need to use my 'walker' today. It was absolutely necessary for my well-being.
Now we turn from the street and head into the woods and the path leading to Hillstrand Pond.

Speaking of which, I met two other local residents out for a morning walk with their infant son.

The ducks are still here at Hillstrand Pond. Neither of us know if they remain all winter or if they migrate South at some point in time.
The time had come for me to head-for-home. Going back across the bridge.
Turning left from the trail to return to the street.
Back up the street I walked.
Back home safe and sound.
It was a great outing. When I went to bed last night (knowing today was my risedronate day) I did not know how I would be feeling in the morning. I felt great when I awoke and was really 'into' the above walk.
