NOV 3, 22 .. A POST CARD FROM A FRIEND AND VOILA ! A POST HERE ON BLOGSPOT

Because of the level of technology available to those of us who have smart phones, we can do things impossible to accomplish only a relatively few years ago.

For instance, below you see what appears to be a photo of some Hollyhocks that I snapped with my smart phone.

Or, surprise Patti and me, no you are thinking to yourself ..

"Cap only took a photo of the front of a snail mail post card that his friend Brad in Michigan sent to him !"

If you really thought that the above photo is of a post card and not an actual photo snapped out doors, you are correct.

Brad converted an actual photo that he snapped of his Hollyhocks on his farm and made some very nice post cards.

"And Captain?"

The photo on Brad's post card took me back to Irkutsk, Russian Siberia, where Patti and I home-based for the better part of nine months back in 2018 - 2019.

It just so happened that Patti, my Master Gardener, was not familiar with Hollyhocks. While in Irkutsk, I told Patti that these young plants she was looking at were about to grow and become Hollyhocks. This was news to Patti !

Hollyhocks have become a special memory we two share.

"And Captain?"

I decided to revist Irkutsk in the late Summer /early Autumn of 2019 and post photos that I snapped with my own camera of the Hollyhocks on the grounds of our apartment building in Irkutsk.

PATTI'S IRKUTSK HOLLYHOCKS

A final look at Brad's Hollyhocks.

There you have it !

Thanks to Brad in Michigan for his post card  inspiration that moved me to revisit Patti's Irkutsk Hollyhocks.

Cap and Patti

The Rest of The Story .. Patti actually left Irkutsk well before the Hollyhocks burst into full bloom so she did not experience most of the Hollyhocks you have just seen in the above photos.

JAN 3, 20 .. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES YEAR 2019 .. RUSSIAN SIBERIA .. PART 2 OF 4 PARTS

If you haven't seen PART 1 of my review of Russian Siberia Year 2019, you may click onto the below link and check it out.

http://bobbacaps.blogspot.com/2019/12/dec-31-19-thanks-for-memories-year-2019.html

Here we go loop-di-loop with more photos of our nine months in Russian Siberia.

Do they have McDonald's in Russian Siberia?

Oh Yes!

The Russian word Макдоналдс says McDonalds.

Too funny! Too much! They even have a drive-through!

They even have an automated ordering system!

You can also stand-in-line and place your order at an order counter.

A soft drink, burger and fries.

Do all of you realize that many of the Russians in Russian Siberia look just like many of us?

On a bus. Many, if not most, have very state-of-the-art smart phones.

The Russian people in general are very passionate about their history and museums are everywhere.

The Russian word below .. Мариинск .. Mariinsk .. is the name of a city that I visited for five days.

The entrance to one of several local museums.

It looks like a very upscale gift shop but it is a museum.

Chess is a passion with many Russians.

Мариинск .. Mariinsk ..

Another musuem in Mariinsk, Russian Siberia.

IRKUTSK - OUR 'HOME' IN RUSSIAN SIBERIA

Patti with her kindle relaxing in our Irkutsk Flat.

Our walks along the banks of the Angara River became one of our favorite passtimes in Irkutsk.

So there you have some more memory joggers showing some scenes from our visit to Russian Siberia in 2019.

Yes, there will be a PART THREE coming up.
