Sunday, the 19th of September 2021.
For this small victory to mean something, please keep in mind that today began the second week of the National Football League (NFL) 2021 football season. We had a full slate of games coming up on television. Our Seattle Seahawks were playing their first home game of the season against the Tennessee Titans.
What to do? Watch the game! A no brainer!
Once in awhile, at least in my own mind, from time to time that is, I get it right.
Patti and I had just finished a noontime zoom meeting. We two had just tuned into the Seattle Seahawks game to see the opening kickoff, and we were settling in to watch their home opener.
Outside, in the green strip behind our Condo, it was a stunning Autumn afternoon.

"Patti!" I said ..
"Let's turn off the game and take a drive South down the Seward Highway to your former home in Girdwood, Alaska. We are approaching winter and this could be the last beautiful Autumn day. I feel that it is far, FAR too nice a day to sit inside watching a football game!"
And?
Patti agreed and out and off the two of us drove.
Down we drove to Beluga Point.
Next we continued our drive South on the Seward Highway to Bird Point.
More blazing Autumn colors and majestic Alaskan scenery awaited us at Bird Point!

Onward South to Girdwood we continue.
We have now turned off the Seward Highway and beginning with the below photos, we are driving into the town of Girdwood, Alaska.
As we continue progressively driving into Girdwood, in the distance is the mountain on which the Alyeska Ski Slopes are located.
Now we are close enough to see some details of the ski slopes.
In the next three photos, you can see on the sign, that to the left up the road is the Hotel Alyeska.
In the following photos we have turned left and are driving towards the Hotel Alyeska.
Voila! Below is The Hotel Alyeska. Truly the hotel is magnificent.
Because Patti lived here in Girdwood for sixteen years, we took a short tour of one of the residential districts.
The Bake Shop here in Girdwood is one of Patti's favorite places as she worked for the founding owner for a few years and became very good friends with him.
The Double Musky Inn is also one of our favorite places.
Trust me on this, The Double Musky is a world class restaurant.
We also love The Chair 5 restaurant.
And now, North back to Anchorage we two drive.
"Wow Patti!"
"This sure was better than sitting at home, in the Condo, watching the Seattle Seahawks lose their football game in overtime to Tennessee!"
