DEC 16, 18 .. KYZYL ( КЫЗЫЛ ) Aldin-Bulak Tourist Complex.

About 45 Kilometers (28 Miles) West of Kyzyl ( КЫЗЫЛ ) is the Aldin-Bulak Tourist Complex.

As part and parcel of our trip down to ШАГОНАР Shagonar on our way home to Kyzyl we stopped to visit the Aldin-Bulak Tourist Complex.

Aldin-Bulak is a re-creation of a colony of historic gers (Mongolian) or yurts (Russian) that are portable, round tents covered with skins or felt and used as a dwelling by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. They literally are all-over-Mongolia, from the city climes of Ulaanbaatar to the most remote regions of Mongolia.

The site appeared to be closed for the winter but our party of 8 had special advanced reservations that included dinner and the wearing of ceremonial costumes.

I am here to tell you that our visit was really special.

Here we go for a visit to Aldin-Bulak.

I'm not sure, but the below photos may be the first photos that I have posted showing the countryside outside of Kyzyl.

We've arrived at the Aldin-Bulak Tourist Complex. The sign is in the Tuvian language.

It was a short drive into the complex.

Another example of the Tuvian written language. It is certainly more ornate than that of the basic cyrillic alphabet.

Just when I was feeling a bit hungry after our long day.

As proof that I was a lot more fatigued and far more hungry than I thought I was, I only photographed the salads.

The instant the entree dishes arrived, I just dove-into the meat and vegetables and forgot all about my camera. It truly was an absolutely magnificent dinner. I also forgot to photograph the desert course.

Somewhere in the mix, I was selected to be the King!

When the party was over, I kept waiting for the bill. It never came. Oh My Goodness! Lights. Camera. Action. A taste of the charmed life indeed.

Wowie. Amazing.

Much fun was had by all.

/sign me/ King for an Afternoon .. Cap
