About 45 Kilometers (28 Miles) West of Kyzyl ( КЫЗЫЛ ) is the Aldin-Bulak Tourist Complex.
As part and parcel of our trip down to ШАГОНАР / Shagonar on our way home to Kyzyl we stopped to visit the Aldin-Bulak Tourist Complex.
Aldin-Bulak is a re-creation of a colony of historic gers (Mongolian) or yurts (Russian) that are portable, round tents covered with skins or felt and used as a dwelling by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. They literally are all-over-Mongolia, from the city climes of Ulaanbaatar to the most remote regions of Mongolia.
The site appeared to be closed for the winter but our party of 8 had special advanced reservations that included dinner and the wearing of ceremonial costumes.
I am here to tell you that our visit was really special.
Here we go for a visit to Aldin-Bulak.
I'm not sure, but the below photos may be the first photos that I have posted showing the countryside outside of Kyzyl.
We've arrived at the Aldin-Bulak Tourist Complex. The sign is in the Tuvian language.
It was a short drive into the complex.
Another example of the Tuvian written language. It is certainly more ornate than that of the basic cyrillic alphabet.
Just when I was feeling a bit hungry after our long day.
As proof that I was a lot more fatigued and far more hungry than I thought I was, I only photographed the salads.
The instant the entree dishes arrived, I just dove-into the meat and vegetables and forgot all about my camera. It truly was an absolutely magnificent dinner. I also forgot to photograph the desert course.
Somewhere in the mix, I was selected to be the King!
When the party was over, I kept waiting for the bill. It never came. Oh My Goodness! Lights. Camera. Action. A taste of the charmed life indeed.
Wowie. Amazing.
Much fun was had by all.

What an amazing complex .. and they opened it just for your group. Reminds me of when a resort complex did that for us with Gullible in Mongolia in November 2015. This place shouts elegance .. the whole complex outdoors, down to the white table cloths and napkins in the restaurant. You MUST have been hungry. I am so used to NOT touching any of my food until ALL of your pictures are taken, and the only photos you got to here were the salad course! Long live the elegant king! Smiles and hugs. Patti
ReplyDeleteThe main course did not arrive for awhile. So I concentrated on photographing the salad course. That being done I enjoyed the salad. Then when two servings of meat and rice and vegetables arrived I just started munching on them. I was hungry and I was tired out. This is not the first time I've missed part ( or even all of a meal ) in terms of photos. YES it was the same as when we visited Northwest Mongolia back in November of 2015. The owners opened that locale up just for us. Good on YOU getting comments up here on blogspot. Much Love .. Cap
