My first full week here in Krasnoyarsk, Russian Siberia is now complete.
And?
The time has (finally) come to show some photos of where Mike, my friend and translator, and I are living.
I will begin with some photos of the exterior of the building.
Below are photos that show views I really enjoy seeing as I look out from the apartment.
Time for us to come inside.
We have four rooms. A main living room; a bedroom; separate toilet and bathing rooms; a kitchen.
The LIVING ROOM.
This is where I am living.
The BEDROOM. This is where Mike is living. I don't go into his room. He has a large wall to wall closet.
The BATHING / TOILET rooms are two small, individual, private rooms.
To the left above you see the washing machine, large bath tub / shower / sink.
To the right is the necessary room.
The KITCHEN.
The above kitchen table is where Mike sets up his laptop and where he does his work.
When we wash clothing, we dry it on the below radiator.
You can see the kitchen radiator in the background of the second photo above.
Now we will come back to my room ..
The LIVING ROOM.
I began with my laptop set up on the nice little table you see on the left side of the living room.
I immediately learned that the electrical outlets on the left side of the living room are dead. They do not provide electricity.
So I relocated my laptop to the far corner of the right side of the living room.
In short time, my poor, aching back gave out trying to sit in the small wooden chair.
Also, the above couch would not allow me to stretch full-out to sleep.
So I moved the couch that was originally on the left side of the room over to the right side of the room.
Below is the final configuration for my room.
Again, because of the discomfort of the small wooden chair, I now sit with my laptop in front of me as I sit on the couch (my bed) with the nice large pillow behind me to support my back.
And there you have it. Our 'digs' here in Krasnoyarsk, Russian Siberia. Very nice if you were to ask me how to describe our place.
Smiles .. Cap and Patti who is in Anchorage, Alaska

Nice, nice, nice to see pictures of the inside of your flat. Now I can envision you in the interior and especially in 'your room'. The flat looks roomy, great for you and Mike to have separate rooms for sleeping and having space. The small wooden chair looks like it is actually a kitchen chair. Glad you reshuffled and can sit on the couch now with the pillow behind you for when you are on the computer. Also, nice that you are 4 floors up for the scenic pictures looking out of the flat. Smiles at thinking you are comfortable! Love, Patti
ReplyDeleteWell it's about time I got around to showing you our 'digs' here in Krasnoyarsk isn't it? It, the small chair, IS indeed a kitchen chair. That's where I brought it from, the kitchen. I only wish you could be here enjoying this flat with me. Maybe I'll keep our landlord's phone number so we can return. Much Love and Gratitude for all of your support and assistance. Cap
DeleteLooks clean and comfortable, Cap. May I ask how much you pay for it?
ReplyDeleteYes it is clean. Yes it is comfortable. I am paying 2,000 Russian Rubles (U.S. Dollars $29.85) per day based on a full two week stay. This is extremely reasonable when I see what Patti and I were paying in the U.S. staying in motels for months on end. It is really nice. Amazingly so! Thanks for your interest my Gullible friend. Cap
