The United States has fifty individual states.
One of these states is named Michigan.
The State of Michigan is divided into two separate parts. The Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula.
The two parts are connected by a bridge. The Mackinac Bridge.
The first link below shows maps that will clarify this should you wish to check them.

The next link will show a great amount of information about the Mackinac Bridge.

The time has come to show you some photos of the Mackinac Bridge as we take a drive or two across the bridge.
In the first series of photos below, we are driving North across the bridge on U.S. Interstate Highway 75 (I-75).
In the first two photos below, it is very difficult to see, but in the distance there are two towers supporting the bridge.
Ahead are the Toll Gates. The fare each direction is $4.00.
Now let's take a drive back South across the Mackinac Bridge.
There is only one Toll Plaza at the bridge. It is located at the North end of the bridge near Saint Ignace, Michigan.
Now I have a ' treat ' for you. Until this trip, I had never seen the bridge from water level.
Patti and I arranged to ride a ferry out to Mackinac Island that made a side trip to, and under, the Mackinac Bridge.
Here we go for a ferry ride to visit the bridge and gaze at the bridge from the lake.
We will finish this Post with a few random photos of the bridge as viewed from the shores of Lake Huron.
There you have it. Michigan's Mackinac Bridge.
Smiles from Patti and Cap.

In the next photos below, we have passed the first (Southern) tower and have reached the center of the bridge.
