Patti is an avid reader.
Patti loves her newspaper but she mostly loves her books. Patti is now on her fourth kindle and she is an avid member of Book Bub. Patti also goes to our local library and checks out hard cover books as well.
Patti recently read a true story titled : Bodie ON THE ROAD, travels with a Rescue Pup (Bodie) in the Dogged Pursuit of Happiness written by Belinda Jones.
Patti was particularly fascinated with the below excerpt centered along the Central Coast of California and read it to me.
"The classic road to Cambria would be Highway 1 past Morro Bay with its Gibraltar-esque rock and trio of industrial chimney stacks..
I absolutely adore the gold and green of the Central Coast. The hills look so strokeable here, like they're swathed in suede. On closer inspection I see they're actually a mix of long tickly blonde grasses and mown-short prickles, interspersed with robust vegetation. Bodie and I have pulled into one of the lookout points, parking tantalisingly close to the edge, but something about the Midas touch of the sunlight and the dune-like slopings surrounding us creates a soothing environment. I let my gaze tumble down the valleys and gamble up the other side, roaming widely. Then, as my vision extends to the sea, I realise I can see all the way to Morro Rock.
These moments are transient. All you can do is fully embrace them and then try to carry them onward with you."
Patti and I visited Morro Bay during the middle of March 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic was gaining momentum. We were staying in Lompoc, California, South of Morro Bay. During our short visit to see long time friends there, we all viewed Morro Rock and the coastline so, inspired by Patti's reading, I decided to revisit it.
Here we go with a few photos of Morro Rock.
Now we will show our approach to The Morro Rock as we began our visit.
And there you have it ! Morro Rock, in the bay at Morro Bay, California.
In our next post we will show some more scenes from Morro Bay.
