MAR 25, 17 .. THE GHOST TOWN OF OATMAN ARIZONA

While we two were staying in Needles Californa, we were told by our good friend Michael in Havasu City Arizona that we should not miss paying a visit to the old, ghost, gold-mining town, of Oatman Arizona that flourished from 1915 to 1924.

And?

The two of us did just that.

Out and off for Oatman Arizona your gypsy couple drove.

The photos taken below were taken going into Oatman and leaving Oatman.

The above scenic photos were taken going into Oatman.

The below scenic photos were taken leaving Oatman.

When the 1915-1924 gold boom was finished, the miners just left, the miners just abandoned, their pack burros.

And?

The burros survived.

And?

The wild but VERY tame descendants of the abandoned burros live on to this day.

Yes the above burro came right up to our truck ..

And?

See the below photo!

Now we are about to actually enter Oatman Arizona.

And?

That-Is-That for Oatman Arizona and our visit thereto.

MAR 19, 17 .. AND? .. 'ZILLA SAID ..

This Post is a personal gift from me to you 'Zilla, my friend of some 42-years. 'Zilla I hope, as you look at it, now and maybe again in the future, you will find pleasure in re-living your many trips to and from the many games you have so enjoyed.

This Post will provide you with some photographic memories to add to your mental memories of your many visits to the venue.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

And 'Zilla said to Patti and to me ..

Let's all go to a game together.

So out and off we three went to a game.

Disclaimer: Because this is, after all, a Program of Honesty, I actually attended not one (1) game with 'Zilla but three (3) games. By far the highlight of the three games was the final game that Patti joined 'Zilla and myself to attend. 70% of the photos you will see below were taken as the three of us viewed the third game together. I write this disclaimer just in case one of you eagle eyed followers notices different team uniforms during game photos. So you will see some action photos actually snapped during three (3) games. Here we go.

To enter any professional game you need tickets. 'Zilla treated and hosted me, and then Patti and me, to all three games. Thank You So Very Much my friend.

Below are what our on-line game tickets looked like. Hi-Tech tickets aren't they?
And yes, you actually show the above sheets of paper to the attendants as you enter the Arena. They scan them and presto you are waved inside.

We all rode together to the game in our GMC Surburban.
'Zilla is one who likes to arrive at the venue very early. As a result of being over one hour early, we got a prime parking place.
Below is a photo looking out at our parking lot near the NW entrance to the Arena. The Arena is literally surrounded by parking lots.

Hockey Lover.

Just a lover's pronouncement below! I howled when I saw the below car in the parking lot.

The games are played in a very nice Arena. Below is a series of photos of the exterior of the Arena. I am going to begin by showing the exterior of the NW corner of the Arena where 'Zilla always parks and enters the venue. Photographically I will then, walking clockwise, circle the entire Arena. As I did this during a one hour walk, Patti and 'Zilla visited. This was a great opportunity for them to visit and for me to do a long and relaxed photo shoot.

The NW corner of the Arena is shown below.

The below photo of the NW corner of the Arena was taken at night after a game.

Now I am going to move clockwise (to the left in the first photo below) and walk to the NE corner of the Arena.

Below are photos of the NE entrance and corner of the Arena.

The next two photos below 'bracket', looking left and then right of the above photo, the NE corner of the Arena.

In the below photo, the main entrance to the Arena is to your far left.
In the below photo, the NW entrance where we entered the Arena, is to your far right.

Stepping back and away from the above NE corner of the Arena you see the below view.
BTW 'Zilla, at the extreme lower left corner of the above photo, you can see the automobile that I photographed showing the Hockey Lover's license plate.

In the next photo below, the Main Entrance to the Arena is on the left and the NE entrance that you have seen above is on the right.
Now I am going to show you photos of the Main or SE Entrance to the Arena.
As one would expect, the Main Entrance is very ornate in appearance.
Wow! Look at the Main Entrance. 'Zilla, have you ever explored the Main Entrance area?

The above and below photos show the East side of the Arena.
"Captain Oh Captain? Do you ever tire of photographing cactus plants?" .. "No I do not."

Noticing the umbrella in the below right, you can all see that we were enjoying some of California's 'liquid sunshine' on game day. Not bad, just a nice and cool drizzle.

To the left or West of the Main Entrance, you can see the Administrative Offices below.
Below we are looking at the SW corner of the Arena.
In the below photo, if you look closely, you can see a gentleman wearing a red shirt, coming towards me. I will not tell you, The Rest of The Story, but he, and our little visit, are the reason that I have not mentioned the name of the team nor the Arena in the text of this Post.

Do any of you remember the below photo?

In the lower left of the above photo, a man in white is walking towards me. This gentleman had a similar issue with me as did the man in red shirt one photo above.

Now we are all going to enter the Arena. 'Zilla is a season ticket holder and, as such, he has access to a very nice and exclusive club within the Arena.

The Club is located at the NW corner of the Arena and this is why 'Zilla always parks where he does.

Zowie 'Zilla! Your Ol Buddy here is not used to such elegance and special, high-class, accommodations.

DO YOU WANT TO EAT??

Oh come on now! This borders on the amazing!

Today's Rhetorical Question 'Zilla : Who on this good earth has room left to eat dessert after eating from the above buffet?

Now we will take a walk around the public concourse and concession areas of the Arena.

Clean. Immaculate. Spotless.

After The Club buffet, who would want to eat anything else! However, the members of the public certainly had some very nice food-options available to them.

Too funny! Ciao (pronounced as chow) Now!
Lots and lots and yes, lots more, team memorabilia for sale!

"Don't tell me Captain! Are we are finally going to see some of what we came here to see!" ..

"Oh! Someone other than 'Zilla is following along with us here."

Are any of you interested to know how many photos I shot to frame the ice rink as I have accomplished in the first photo below?

Nice to be early and to have-the-Arena to ourselves.

THE TIME HAS COME FOR THE NATIONAL ANTHEM!

Pre-Game festivities and team roster announcements.

Out on the ice you can see the Team Mascot Kingston.
During the game, the Team Mascot Kingston mixes with the crowd in the arena. Suddenly we looked up and there he was.

We did not know Kingston was beside us until he hit his tambourine and caused us to nearly jump out of our seats!
Despite my efforts to determine where the name Kingston originated, I have been unable to ascertain the name's origin.

The starting players are announced in pre-game activities.

THE TIME HAS COME TO SEE SOME ICE HOCKEY!

The Referee is about to drop-the-puck at center ice to start the game.

By looking closely at the team uniforms, you eagle-eyed-followers can see two different games beginning above and below!

Game on!

Nice seats you enjoy 'Zilla.

I enjoy seeing games from different angles.

Live television and, visible-in-the-arena, coverage of the game.
The camera-man was so focused upon his job I don't think he had a clue I was beside him.
It is very nice to see game re-plays on the overhead scoreboard.

In between each of the three periods, there are gala festivities on the ice!

BTW eagle-eyes! The time you see on the scoreboard is NOT game time. It is the time remaining until the game itself resumes after the intermission.
What would it be like, to visit an arena, and NOT see the Zamboni, Ice Re-Surfacing Machines, in action between periods?

The games resume after the intermission breaks!

More photos from other areas of the Arena.

Game(s) over.

During all three games that I attended, during each game I was up and I was down and I was all-over-the-Arena shooting the above photos! For each photo above, at least two others were deleted.

'Zilla! Ol Buddy Ol Pal!

This Post was quite-a-project as I combined photos from three games that I snapped during a number of walk-around-the-Arena, exterior and interior, photo-shooting expeditions.

And?

What else are you going to do after a great evening at the Arena but go out for a great dinner.

 Live and up-close! 'Zilla himself!

Thanks So Very Much 'Zilla for the three games that you and I attended and especially for the game Patti joined us. What a time we had, the two of us and then the three of us.

It is time to say ..

Over And Out and we hope you enjoy this Post.

Cap and Patti ..
