Patti and I together share this most special moment and this most special memory.
As the two of us, at ages 83 and 79, enter the 'end game' of life, the poignancy of such a Memorial reaches deep into our hearts and souls. We are at the stage of life when we are losing friends around us, so this Memorial is not some distant concept to be concerned about many years from now, this Memorial touches us in the here and now.
It is located in front of a very small church in Royal Oak, Michigan, where we own the home I was born into and grew up in. It is but a few blocks from us. The small church is in the home of a former High School classmate. So the small church is really personal to me.
Think about, treasure the below words. Hold those you love very close to your heart, we never know when we will lose them.
Much Love..

Yes, a very touching memorial in that rock garden. We all are getting closer to the end of this glorious marathon, as we treasure each and every step and mile! Love and hugs. Patti

DeleteHey Cap.Tom E. here. Is this walkway/garden adjacent to the Royal Oak Shrine Church ?
DeleteNo Tom it isn't. It is at the Unity Church on Crooks Road between where Webster Road and Northwood Blvd intersect with Crooks. There used to be a lot of meetings at this Unity Church. Smiles .. Cap
DeleteI am close to your age and a widow and love the sweet memorial. I purchased a memorial bench for my husband and had it placed in a park near my home.
ReplyDeleteThank You so very much for your caring and for taking the time and going to the effort to post your comment Terra. We both appreciate it. With Love .. Cap and Patti
