MAR 17, 20 .. A FAREWELL TO MORRO BAY ..

Our short visit of a few hours to our friends North of Lompoc where we are staying was very enjoyable. Just in case you haven't seen the other two posts, the below two links will take you to them.

Morro Bay .. Morro Rock..

Morro Bay .. Surf and Sea Gulls..

While we were visiting Morro Rock, we noticed the below monument and snapped a few photos.

THE FISHERMAN'S FAMILY SCULPTURE

It's always so very nice to see that visitors are enjoying monuments such as this one.

A giggle for all of you.

The young man's name is Ricky. Back in 1974 the rock/jazz group Steely Dan had a hit song titled 'Rikki Don't Lose That Number'.

So when I heard his name I said to him, "Ricky Don't Lose That Number."

All of them howled in delight! So maybe he was named after the song by Steely Dan.

While we were at Morro Rock, we also saw quite a colony of squirrels.

It turned out that our friend's daughter is quite a shutter-bug herself.

As we were driving to their home to say our goodbyes, I snapped a few more photos of the beautiful area.

And that-is-that for our great visit to Morro Bay, California.

Just in case you are not following along here regularly, the below link will show you where Morro Bay is located.

In addition to visiting Morro Rock (please see the below link)..

We also enjoyed seeing the surf as the Pacific Ocean met the shore and loved the many sea gulls who were just watching and 'taking it all in'.

If you venture out into the surf, please be careful.

And now!

Surf and Sea Gulls!

Well there you have it!

S & S!

MAR 13, 20 .. MORRO BAY, CALIFORNIA .. MORRO ROCK

Yesterday, Patti and I drove North from Lompoc, California, up to Morro Bay to visit a long term friend and her daughter. Our round trip covered just over 140 miles and the weather was wonderful. Cool and sunny at the same time.

When we reached their home, the first thing I asked of Patti and our hosts was: "Please do not let me leave Morro Bay without visiting the famous Morro Rock!"

"Let's go right now!" replied our hosts.

So out and off the four of us drove to see and to explore Morro Rock.

The below link will show two maps of Morro Bay to help orient you to our visit.

http://babakaps.net/?p=40618

To begin with, I'll show a relatively close-up photo of Morro Rock so you can get a good idea of what we are going to see up close and personal.

Now that you have a clear idea of what you're about to see, we'll view Morro Rock from a distance.

Now we'll view Morro Rock from another distant viewing point.

The next four photos 'pan' from left to right.

The time has come to get up close and a bit more personal with Morro Rock.

Morro Rock is within the Morro Bay (California) State Park.

Out to Morro Rock we proceed.

Whoa!

Do we see desert Cacti beside Morro Rock and the Pacific Ocean?

We'll conclude our visit to Morro Rock with a look out at the Pacific Ocean. In the below photo the Rock is to our right.

Our visit to Morro Rock is complete and we hope you all enjoyed our photos.
