NOV 30, 23 .. ADDITIONAL PHOTOS TO OUR THANKSGIVING DAY POST SHOWING OUR APARTMENT

On our Thanksgiving Day post, we showed many photos of our apartment here in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

I have gone back and added several additional photos to that post.

And! Just like yesterday's newspaper, no one will be going back to re-read a week old post.

So here is the update.

The below photo was the 11th photo in the NOV 23, 23 Post.

In the above photo, what is the object sitting on a white base and looking across the street?

It's Moyo! He guards our apartment!

Here is a closer look at him!

I am just teasing you.

I know the above photo doesn't really show you much.

Here are frontal photos of Moyo, our sweet little Bear Mascot.

I also added the below photo showing our GMC Suburban parked on the street in front of our apartment building.

I know! Who cares?

These additions just make the post showing our apartment a little bit more complete.

NOV 29, 23 .. CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND

I have written many times that without all of the support from you our followers, we could not possibly continue to publish Posts here on our website we have nicknamed "Blogspot".

Your comments, your photos, your questions and your own stories and challenges assist us immensely.

A few weeks ago, out of the blue, our friend Kit in South Dakota texted us the following photos.

BIG ROAD BUMP. After I decided to write and publish this Post, I could not, for the life of me, find the below photos Kit initially sent me.

Today I contacted Kit and she "immediately" sent me another set of photos.

The instant I received these photos from Kit, I knew exactly what they were all about.

We are looking at Devils Tower in the State of Wyoming!

The final scenes of the movie Close Encounters of The Third Kind, took place at Devils Tower.

After I received her photos, I immediately asked.. "Kit, did you see the movie Close Encounter Of The Third Kind".

"Yes indeed." Kit replied.

How about the below photo.

I asked Patti if she had ever seen the movie "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind"?

Patti said "No."

I then explained to Patti what Close Encounters was about.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind was an American science fiction drama film written and directed by Steven Spielberg. Richard Dreyfuss was the star of the movie. It is the story of Roy Nearly, a blue collar worker in Muncie, Indiana. His life, and the lives of many others, changed dramatically after an encounter with a UFO.

It was released forty five (45) years ago in 1977.

Patti said that she didn't like science fiction movies and I said that I thought she would find Close Encounters very interesting.

Enter into this scheme Michael, our great friend here in Lake Havasu City. Michael is a "Very High Tech" gentleman.

Thinking that this would be a very simple task, I asked Michael IF he would bring up Close Encounters on his gigantic television so Patti could see it.

I mistakenly thought he could merely go to Netflix (an American subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service) and presto bring up Close Encounters.

The problem was that it was released forty five (45) years ago in 1977.

Netflix did not have Close Encounters in its massive library (238.39 million paid memberships in more than 190 countries).

Finally after a lot of effort Michael located a personal friend here in Lake Havasu City who actually had a DVD of Close Encounters.

As we three watched Close Encounters, I must have snapped 75 photos. Only a very few were of any use.

Below are but sixteen (16) of the 75 photos that I snapped that were worthwhile showing here.

So far So good with the photos.

Then I could NOT get a good photo of the very understated title.

Michael even stopped the movie for me and no way could I do better than the above (poor) photo.

Roy Nearly was possessed with constructing a vision that the Aliens had put into his head. He himself did not know, nor understand, what was driving him. As we all came to find out, the Aliens came down at Devil's Tower and Roy had unwittingly (without being aware; unintentionally) constructed a model of Devil's Tower, Wyoming, a long way from Muncie, Indiana!

Roy was exasperated (irritated and frustrated) not knowing what he was doing and why he was doing it!

Not bad Roy! Not bad at all! But he still didn't understand what was happening!

In the below photo, the Mother Ship, is hoovering above its landing place.

Below is a photo of  Melinda, a lady who followed Roy on his mission because she too, was obsessed with the same vision that Roy had.

In the last three photos below, The Mother Ship is about to set down.

Yes! In the movie they showed shadowy photos of the Aliens and many others that were not worth posting here.

A photo of the model used in filming the movie.

Patti really enjoyed, and was greatly impressed, with Close Encounters Of The Third Kind.

Michael and I also enjoyed seeing it again.

NOV 23, 23 .. THANKSGIVING DAY.. WE ARE TRULY GRATEFUL FOR OUR LAKE HAVASU CITY APARTMENT

Deep Breath.. Let it out slowly..

It has been almost one full month since I last published a Post here on Blogspot!

That says all you need to know about the past month in our lives. Getting ready to leave Anchorage and come down here to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, to spend the winter took a lot of effort for both of us!

THANKSGIVING DAY 2023

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who follow us here on Blogspot.

Patti and I hope that each and everyone of you will be surrounded by family, friends, and good cheer. Patti and I have several options for our Thanksgiving Day. We have been invited out to celebrate the day with a large meal. We declined the offer. The two of us will chair an Alcathon meeting at The Sun Club at 3:30pm and that will be the extent of our socializing today.

We are still fatigued from settling into our apartment here in Lake Havasu City so we just want to relax and be quiet.

-  -  -  -  -  -  -  -

We two are so very, VERY THANKFUL, to be here. So we wanted to share, through the below photos, our apartment.

First a few photos showing just..

"What we left behind in Anchorage, Alaska."

My solemn promise to all of you : You will NOT see one iota of snow in all of the following photos!

First we flew South to Laughlin, Nevada for a four night visit with our good friends Tom and Ginny.

It was Tom and Ginny who got Patti and me up into Kingman, Northern Arizona, back in 2017.

When we are in Laughlin visiting Tom and Ginny, we always stay at The Edgewater Casino Hotel.

Looking back across the Colorado River at The Edgewater.

LAKE HAVASU CITY, ARIZONA

OUR APARTMENT

It was our great friend Michael who got us to Lake Havasu City.

We are so thankful to be here and for our apartment.

Stepping out our front door, and walking to the left, we see the below views.

In the above photo you can see Moyo.

Moyo is a sweet little Bear who watches out for our apartment building.

The below photos look back at the front of our small apartment building.

Now we will walk up the below steps.

The below photo was taken with my back pressed up against the other side of the Palm Tree in the above photo.

Patti and I really love the open area you see in these photos.

Looking back towards the street.

Our mail box.

The open door behind the two trees in the below photo is our apartment entrance.

Inside our modest, but extremely pleasant, apartment we go.

Our kitchen area.

Our bedroom.

Last, but not least, we park Black Beauty, our GMC Suburban, in two locations.

In back of our apartment complex.

And equally often, in front of our apartment complex "on the street".

There you have it. Life in Arizona during the winter in our sweet little apartment here in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

We wish you all a joyous day to Give Thanks For Your Blessings.
