Right / Left / Center of the aisle, take your pick as to where you stand in the political spectrum. It seems to us that there is indeed something to the Covid-19 virus outbreak here in the United States.
No matter your decision as to the reality of covid, being ages 80 and 84, based upon the statistics that 80% of covid deaths are people age 65 years and up, we are certainly in the high risk category for a severe experience should either of us (if one of us gets it the other gets it) contact covid.
So we are getting tested regularly (weekly). Below are a few photos of our own local covid testing site.
Have any of you seen the enormously long lines of people in automobiles in various places in the United States? If so think back on them as you see our very (extremely) small covid testing site.
We are very fortunate that we have been blessed with our small and very relaxed covid testing site.

I don't know. As one who stays away from doctors until I can't, weekly testing seems somewhat excessive. Stay home and you won't need testing. BTW, a married woman with two toddlers had COVID and no one else in her family caught it. Strange. Another married couple in the 80 year old bracket tested positive and didn't get very sick, just a cough, some lung congestion, and 14 day quarantine. Ya never know, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI am not willing to idly assume that taking all of the precautions (wearing of masks, distancing, avoiding gatherings etc) will protect me knowing people are asymptomatic (being positive with no symptoms). Now when I get a cold or some other mild symptom I feel safe that IT IS NOT Covid because of weekly testing. Why take any chances? Why assume anything in light of the history we are looking at. I also feel better with Patti joining me in weekly testing. Also we thought we would be flying this weekend and wanted some paperwork to show we last tested negative. THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT AND INTEREST .. Cap
