DEC 25, 24 .. CHRISTMAS DAY 2024

Let's not forget that..

First and foremost..

Jesus is the reason for the Christmas Season!

Every year on December 25, we celebrate Christmas, a day for spending time with family, observing a most important Christian holiday, partaking in lighthearted traditions, or just spreading some holiday cheer!

Christmas has evolved over several millennia into a worldwide celebration that’s both religious and secular and chock full of fun-filled, family activities.

Patti and I hope that each of you..

Have yourself a merry little Christmas

Let your heart be light

Next year all your troubles will be out of sight..

DEC 24, 24.. CHRISTMAS EVE DAY..

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

Christmas Eve takes place on December 24 and is probably one of the best nights of the year! Christmas has the power to reunite families and friends, warm up our hearts, and remind us that we have so many things to be thankful for. So put on your cozy PJs, light up your fireplace, call your loved ones, and top off your hot cocoa with some fluffy marshmallows!

Christmas Eve marks the culmination of the Advent period before Christmas that starts on the fourth Sunday before Christmas Eve. Many churches mark the end of Advent with midnight church services. During modern times, it is popularly celebrated on the night before Christmas Day.

Apart from Santa Claus and Christianity, Christmas Eve  became a day made for spending time with family and loved ones over dinner, decorating, gift wrapping, and Christmas-themed movies. The holiday unites families and friends, allowing them to get together and enjoy special and traditional activities, from Europe, North- and Latin America, to Asia.

On the night of Christmas Eve, children around the world leave food and a drink for whoever comes to their house and brings them presents. Who this is depends on what part of the world you live in. It might be Santa Claus or Father Christmas who delivers the presents. In Switzerland, it’s the Christ child. In Denmark, it’s the Christmas elf. In Sweden, it’s a small man. And in Finland, it’s the Christmas goat!

Patti and I wish you a warm and wonderful Christmas Eve.

DEC 15, 24 ( 1 / 2 ).. DANNY AND THE OATMAN, ARIZONA, BURROS..

As those of you who follow us on our dotnet website know, our good friend Danny from Royal Oak (Detroit) Michigan, visited Patti and me for the past four days (Wednesday the 11th until yesterday the 14th) here in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

During his visit, Danny and I visited Oatman, Arizona, and Danny was able to see, alive and up close, some of the Oatman Burros. Patti was not able to join us.

This Part 1 of a 2 part series of our visit to Oatman, focuses upon Danny's interaction with the Oatman Burros.

Below are a few photos showing some views from the road into Oatman.

Historic Route 66..

Some of the Oatman Burros actually meet you out on the highway before you get into town!

Welcome to Oatman, Arizona!

Yes! Yes indeed! The Oatman Burros are not shy, nor are they even a teeny bit afraid of visitors.

If they could get into your vehicle, they most certainly would do so!

Danny and I have parked our car and we are now out on the (one and only) Main Street of Oatman.

In the below photo, the white bag you see in Danny's left hand, is full of "Burro Treats", food that is healthy for them.

Cap and Danny and Patti who was not able to join us.
