Into Hillstrand Pond we now walk.

Across the bridge we walk.

In the distance below, across the bridge to the left, you see a picnic table.

All of our duck photographs were taken from this vantage point.

As you can see, the setting is calm and idyllic. It is a wonderful place to visit and just relax.

"Ducks? Patti and Cap, we want to see some Ducks!"

We have visited Hillstrand Pond to duck-watch several times and we have 'gotten-to-recognize' one pair of Mallard Ducks who reside here.

Do you all remember the picnic table from which the above photos were taken?

Make no mistake about it, Hillstrand Pond and its duck population are extremely popular attractions for our local residents as well as the many people who bicycle on the paved trail that passes Hillstrand Pond.

Time to let you all pause and regroup.

AUG 11, 20 .. DUCKS, DUCKS, AND ? .. MORE DUCKS (PART 1 of 3)

 Hillstrand Pond is a small pond an easy 15-minute walk from our condo here in Anchorage, Alaska. Patti knows the family (the Hillstrand's) who 'homesteaded' this part of Anchorage many years ago.

If you 'click onto' the below link you will see the pond on the Anchorage map. Directly above the letter H of the pond, you will see (if you look hard  for it) the street we live on, Eastridge Drive.

The two of us just love to visit the pond. Sometimes we walk (an easy 15-minute walk) or drive part of the way (to save some of our now-limited energy) to enjoy quiet time there.

The scenery getting to the pond is pleasant.

Walking or driving, we come to the above entry path that leads us back into the pond.

As we walk up the above path, we come to the below small bridge .

Below we are looking back at the small bridge after crossing it.
