The bottom line is this: The weather is everything for the Hot Air Balloon Teams.
First you MUST have wind speeds under 8 mph for safe flying. Of course you don't want rain.
It was a "tad" dark and overcast, but today dawned (almost) perfect. 1 mph wind speed. No rain in sight.
Our local newspaper, The Lake Havasu City News-Herald always has front page articles about the festival.
There were absolutely no teams down at the main festival grounds attempting to fly.
Another very popular site has been closed and turned into a Community Park.
I could see up in the sky that a few balloons were flying, but I had to find where balloons were being prepared for flight.
Success! But below is the only pre-flight prep area I could find.

I slowly, and very carefully, "inched" my way closer.

There you have it. Patti and I each had medical appointments this afternoon that prevented me from spending too much time chasing the balloons.
And? Tomorrow I have an important medical appointment for my left eye and its Macular Degeneration issues.
