WELL PATTI AND I DID-THE-GAME ..
DALLAS COWBOYS vs PHILADELPHIA EAGLES ..
Patti and I got to the stadium very
early .. arriving five hours before the kickoff the two of us were indeed very
early .. parking was quick and easy ..
AT SIXTY ($60) U. S. DOLLARS PER VEHICLE ! .. PARKING WAS VERY EXPENSIVE
(my opinion only) ! .. we were second in position in the handicapped parking
section of Parking Lot ‘A’ .. and we parked immediately adjacent to the exit
from the parking lot it was so nice after the game to leave .. we were picked
up by a nice golf-cart and driven the quarter-of-a-mile or so to within a few
feet of the correct-gate-for-our-ticket Stadium Entrance Gate .. with ten
individual entrance gates to the Stadium this alone was so nice ..
There we were ushered to
the-front-of-the-line so Patti did NOT have to stand-in-line to enter ..
immediately after entering the Stadium proper .. Patti was presented with a
wheelchair and an Attendant ‘wheeled’ Patti pretty much to-her-seat up high in
Section 436 .. an elevator took us all vertically up to the top level of the Stadium ..
after the game the above process was repeated in reverse .. on the proverbial
zero (worst) to ten (best) scale .. our Attendant ‘Ken’ was about FIFTY ! ..
Our Man Ken took us in tow entering and met us after the game ..
Upon entering the Stadium a lady came
up to me .. called me by name (Cap) and said to me .. “I heard you speak twelve years
ago !” .. after she walked away I quietly explained to Ken what that was all
about and Ken said quietly back to me .. “I have six months !” .. WHEW .. GO
FIGURE ..
Entering and leaving Ken WOULD NOT
take a gratuity .. and I PRESSED him to take one .. he steadfastly refused ..
Seated in our seats well over an hour
before the kickoff .. we were treated to a Stadium experience such as I have
NEVER before felt .. on my zero-to- ten scale .. the Dallas Cowboys Stadium
would break-the-meter at about ONE HUNDRED where ten is perfect ! .. all sorts
of activities entertained us .. music .. awards to local community members ..
pre-game player activity on the field .. the 38 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders ..
pre-game interviews and pre-game analysis and MUCH MORE on the ‘JUMBOTRON’ ..
our seat-mates beside us and in front of us and behind us were THE ABSOLUTE
BEST .. NO ONE .. NOT ONE SINGLE person in front of us ‘stood up and blocked
our view’ ! .. NOT ONE profane or naughty word was uttered once ..
Ah yes .. Stadium Concessions .. Five
($5) ‘count them’ Buckaroos for a bottle of water .. Ten ($10) ‘count them’
Buckaroos for a ‘truly small’ plastic container of popcorn BUT you could go
back-and-forth for free refills of this small container. In Detroit, at the
Pistons game, we got a huge tub of popcorn for Five Dollars that we could also refill
endless times .. being huge we still ate three tubs of popcorn at The Palace Of
Auburn Hills in greater Detroit ! I
would say one Detroit tub of popcorn would hold five containers of the the
Dallas small containers .. what a hassle to keep going back and forth
re-filling them .. beer was the usual Eight ($8.50) Fifty each plastic bottle
..
We did get an outrageously large
attractive beautiful absolutely ‘gourmet’ sandwich made of ham/cheese/bacon/coleslaw/dressing on
home-made tasting bread that we ended up eating with forks (else we would have
broken our jaws trying to open them wide enough to eat this monster sandwich !)
.. AND ?
This baby only cost us Ten ($10) Buckaroos !
The game itself was fun and
entertaining .. I ‘charted’ it so I would stay-in-the-now and be-present ..
The Dallas Cowboys won the game 38 –
33 but the Philadelphia Eagles were in-the-game to the end .. in fact the
Eagles led the game most of the way until Dallas seized -the-lead 31 – 27 at
5:35 of the Fourth Quarter and then just minutes later at 3:50 of the Fourth
Quarter Dallas put-the-game-away on a Philadelphia fumble that Dallas immediately
converted into a ‘Pick-Six’ touchdown and the Stadium almost exploded as the Dallas
fans WENT ABSOLUTELY CRAZY ! with their beloved Cowboys now leading 38 – 27 ..
THEN ? Philadelphia ran the ensuing kickoff back
99-yards for a touchdown and failed on a two-point-conversion .. the Cowboys recovered the on-side-kickoff by the Eagles and the game
ended Dallas 38 – 33 Philly.
In my opinion .. when I attend a game
..be it my team or be it the other team .. IT IS MUCH NICER WHEN THE HOME TEAM
WINS THE GAME .. after the game the home town fans are happy and content ..
albeit loud and excited ..
So our swell afternoon and evening ended
‘just right’ .. joyful and mellow !

Your Stadium Warriors .. Patti and Cap ..
