As those of you following along here now know, Patti and I are totally enjoying ourselves here in the city of Flagstaff, located in Northern Arizona.
In addition to enjoying Flagstaff, we two are also totally enjoying the vagaries of the weather here at elevation 7,000-feet.
The first photos below show a sampling of the weather at our motel and local library this past Friday the 31st of March 2017.
And YES!!
In the same day you suddenly have the below amazing phenomenon!!
However!! Last Sunday, the 26th of March, the day dawned clear and bright.
And?
It stayed clear and bright.
So out and off Patti and I went to explore the local ski area located 7-miles from Flagstaff and residing 2,500-feet in elevation above Flagstaff.
It is called The Arizona Snowbowl and it is located within the enormous Coconino National Forest.
A closer look below at the above signs.
The below two photos were taken looking off to the side of the road beside the above signs.
We have now arrived at the venue proper.
The time has come to see some actual skiing action.
In the above photo, find a man standing up in his pickup truck bed. Black Beauty is parked immediately to the left of this man.
Below is a closeup photo of his pickup truck bed.
These lads were really enjoying themselves! What's not to enjoy!
Back we go to more skiing.
Oh come-on Mister Oatman Arizona burro! What on earth are you doing here in Flagstaff Arizona. This is ridiculous!
Where was I? Got it! Back to skiing at Arizona's Snowbowl.
In the below photo showing the entrance into the skiing area, you see mention of the Hart Prairie Lodge that is located within the Snowbowl.
The Hart Prairie Lodge is a main feature of the Arizona Snowbowl.
The below parking lot is immediately adjacent to the Hart Prairie Lodge. Do any of you recognize our suburban, Black Beauty, the third vehicle from the right?
There are many, MANY, parking lots as you wend your way up and up to higher elevations. It is a fairly enormous facility.
Well, it's NOT nearly the size of the Whistler Ski Resort up in British Columbia but it sure is nice.
We both hope you enjoyed a look at skiing in Northern
Arizona at the beginning of April.
Smiling, Patti and Cap
And I MEAN SMILING!!
