On our recent trip to Yuma, Arizona, and then to Indio, California, on our way back to Phoenix, Arizona, Patti and I stopped into the small village of Quartzsite, Arizona, for a little look-see.
"Odd huh Patti?"
"Yes it is Cap. The Quartzsite, Arizona, City Limit Sign, has camels on it!"
Quartzsite is right off Interstate Highway 10 (I-10). Prior to arriving, I had checked Trip Advisor for Things To Do in Quartzsite.
One attraction was something called Hi Jolly's Tomb.

As Patti and I were driving West down Main Street we came upon Kofa Avenue and look what we saw.
I was, more-or-less, looking for something called the Hi Jolly Tomb.
So we turned onto the side road and saw the below.
"I am a bit confused Patti, but this must be the right location for the Hi Jolly Tomb or Memorial."
As we drove further down the side road, we came upon the below welcome memorial.
"Camels and more camels Patti."
"That must be it in the distance on the left Patti."
"Am I seeing a camel on top of the monument?"
Some miscellaneous mementos on the base of the mounment.
March 13, 2018, a most recent memorial.
On behalf of all who visit, Thank You so very much Dinice Ross.
We hope you enjoyed the camels here in Quartzsite, Arizona!

Cap- this is a coincidence, browsing this at R.O. Library overlooking 11 Mile rd. by chance, out at Ginnys in Laughlin we would get DVD's to watch in the evenings from the library there in NV, one was Season #1 of " Have Gun-Will Travel", the 50,s-60's western starring Richard Boone as Paladin,a 'gun for hire", I'm sure you are familiar with the long running show.. Long story short, there is an episode where Paladin hooks up with a camel herder and rides a camel across a long stretch of the desert to win a wager. Wonder why they (camels) did not catch on better out in the desert S.W. ?
