OCT 11 and 12, 23 .. OUR VERY FIRST SNOW OF THE WINTER OF 2023 - 24

Both Patti and I know! 

Yes Oh Yes! We both fully understand that this first snow will not "last" too long..

BUT this does not change the fact that it IS indeed our very first snow of the Winter 2023 - 24 up here in Anchorage, Alaska, and it was significant, it was not a mere "dusting" of snow.

Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 11:04 pm (2304 hours) Patti noticed outside of our Condo that it was snowing.

Outside I went and snapped the first four photos you see below.

Then we two "went to bed".

Thursday, October 12th, 2023, beginning at 9:13 am (0913 hours) I snapped the following photos.

OCT 10, 23 .. THE 7 GABLES INN AND SUITES, FAIRBANKS, ALASKA

In yesterday's Post here on blogspot, we showed photos of Billie's Backpackers Hostel, one of our favorite places to stay when we are in Fairbanks.

The 7 Gables Inn and Suites

The 7 Gables Inn is a notch above incredible!

When you enter the 7 Gables Inn, you are greeted with a very beautiful "Garden Area". Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall it's there!

A wonderful, "Four Poster Bed".

With a Hot Tub Jacuzzi in the rest room.

A nice library of books to peruse!

OCT 9, 23 .. BILLIE'S BACKPACKERS HOSTEL .. FAIRBANKS, ALAKSA

The four of us go back twenty five (25) years to "May 1998".

I met Art in May of 1998 when he owned The Parks Highway Express. On that May day, I was his only passenger traveling from Anchorage up to Fairbanks. We two really "got to know one another" during the 7 hour drive. Ours was an "instant", genuine and long lasting friendship.

When we reached Fairbanks, I stayed at his mom's Backpackers Hostel.

We are "family" and I mean that.

On our trip North to Manley Hot Springs this past September 19th to the 24th, Patti and I stopped in for our customary visit when we are in Fairbanks.

Oh the memories we have of Billie's!

OCT 7, 23 .. RANDOM PHOTOS OF THE MOUNTAINS NORTH OF ANCHORAGE

I will begin here with a little "Sigh"!

I begin this way, because it has been almost one full month since I have published a Post here on "Blogspot". That is a "crying shame" but, those of you who follow us on dotnet, know full well how much time I spend on our other website dotnet.

So with "no further ado" I will share some "random photos" showing the beauty of the Mountains several hundred miles north of  Anchorage.

Most of the below photos were taken on the Parks Highway from milepost 147 to milepost 245. A few others were taken on the Elliott Highway in the vicinity of milepost 123.

Yes, Oh Yes indeed. Mount Denali / Mount McKinley as seen from the Alaska Veterans Memorial at milepost 147 of the Parks Highway.

Yes, Oh Yes indeed! You have seen many others that I have taken of Denali that look similar.

In the next photos below, we are "in the vicinity" of milepost 186 on the Parks Highway.

In the below photos, we are on the Elliott Highway in the vicinity of milepost 123 en route to Manley Hot Springs.
