In yesterday's post, we showed photos of our first snow of the upcoming 2022-23 winter season.

The title of yesterday's post ended with a Rhetorical Question ..

OCTOBER THE 10TH .. OUR FIRST SNOW .. IS WINTER COMING TO THE NORTH ??

Our good friend and ally Gullible, commented to our Rhetorical Question as follows ..

"Is winter coming to the north?" As inevitable as the tides will flood and ebb, as the sun will rise and set, as the moon will orbit the earth, and the Steller's jays will come for peanuts, winter is coming to the north.

We replied ..

What a difference a day makes!

Today, OCTOBER 11, 2022, an absolutely stunning day!

Gord 48025! Even with having experienced 30°F two consecutive nights, Patti's petunias are still looking good!

Looking back at our condo. What a magnificent day!!

Oh yes, yes indeed, it was 30°F last night, so there still is some snow in the deep shade.

As you can see, he is parked in the deep shade so he still has just a little snow keeping his windshield wipers company!

When we went out to go to our meeting, that innocent looking snow was frozen solid to the windshield! So out came our ice scraper and a little elbow grease to get the glass clear for the windshield wipers to move freely.

Oh Yes! We ARE enjoying our very nice day, today, October the 11th 2022.

OCT 10, 22 .. OCTOBER THE 10TH .. OUR FIRST SNOW .. IS WINTER COMING TO THE NORTH ??

Oh yes! We DO know! After all we DO live here! This first snow will not stay on the ground too long. But even for Alaska, it is on the 'early' side of things for any snow to stay on the ground as long as today's snow managed to accomplish!

In the first photo, you cannot see the snow falling, but trust us the snow was falling. So 'just for the heck of it' and 'you never know', I snapped this first photo.

I lay down to take a short half-hour nap. When I arose will you all just look what had occurred!

The snow had continued to fall and it was remaining on the ground. This morning it was 30°F on our thermomenter and our petunias were wondering what was happening.

Looking out front. The next photo was taken from our bedroom.

Now we are out on our front porch.

And tomorow? Does The Shadow know? Stay tuned!

SEP 30, 22 .. (5/5) BACK IN TIME WE GO TO APRIL OF 2013 .. TO REVISIT OOTY, A CITY IN TAMIL NADU, SOUTH INDIA

This post is the 5th and last post in our series of Ooty posts. This post will show you the beautiful Tea Plantations near Coonoor that I visited while visiting Ooty.

SEP 28, 22 .. (4/5) BACK IN TIME WE GO TO APRIL OF 2013 .. TO REVISIT OOTY, A CITY IN TAMIL NADU, SOUTH INDIA

Hopefully, as you read this post, you have already seen (following below this post) our posts dated SEP 22, 22 (Ooty Restaurants), dated SEP 14, 22 (Downtown Ooty) and dated SEP 8, 22 (My Hotel in Ooty).

In this re-visit to Ooty we are going to show you a neighboring village named Coonoor. Please click onto the link below to see the area map.

Ooty and Coonoor are connected to one another by a unique and picturesque 'Toy Train'. One of the 'touristy attractions of Ooty' is to ride the 'Toy Train' to Coonoor. You can ride the train back to Ooty but most visitors take a (much quicker) bus back from Coonoor to Ooty.
