Coonoor is a small city of 50,000 people located barely 12-miles South of Ooty. The principle industry in Coonoor is tea. I had heard of Coonoor prior to coming to Ooty and I ALMOST made Coonoor my destination and not Ooty because 'word-on-the-street' amongst the backpackers is that Coonoor is smaller than Ooty and not so urban and commercial.
When I heard of a local 'day-tour' from Ooty to Coonoor I 'jumped-at-the-opportunity' to visit Coonoor!
I knew I was on an Indian Tour Bus when we immediately pulled into a petrol station to fill-up! Why don't they just fill-up before they pickup the passengers?

Now my 'disclaimer': I humbly apologize to any of you who get bored and sick-and-tired of the Tea Plantation photographs I am now going to post. I was so mesmerized and fascinated and 'taken-over' by the calm magic and mystery of the tea plantation that I simply could NOT stop snapping photos. For one thing .. green is my favorite color. You will see tea plantations are green!
I don't think I need to say much. Here we go.
It was a dark and a misty day at the tea plantation ..
Cap, that first tea plantation photo is quite artistic.
