The Book of Ecclesiastes .. Chapter 3 ..
1. To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: 2. A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted. 3. A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4. A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5. A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6. A time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; 7. A time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8. A time to love, and a time of hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Am I 'dating myself' or do any others of you remember The Byrds from the mid-1960s .. and their hit song .. 'Turn, Turn, Turn' .. in which they put-into-music the above verses of Ecclesiastes!

Today .. April 16th .. in Kodaikanal .. the HIGH Season began.
My room rate at the Raahat Inn overnight doubled from 800 Rs Indian ($16.00 US Dollars) to 1,600 Rs Indian ($32.00 US Dollars).
This was NO surprise. Right-Up-Front when I checked into the Raahat Inn on March 28th the staff MADE IT PLAIN this rate change would happen on April 16th.
Could I afford $32.00 US Dollars a night. Financially yes I can. But NOT spiritually!
The 'kicker' is this. I will be leaving Kodaikanal to go to Ooty. I will NOT take all my baggage. I will go light with only a small backpack leaving the balance of my things here in Kodaikanal and paying room-rent to do so. I can NOT stomach paying $32.00 US Dollars a night for storing my bags. I must have a room when I return from Ooty. I do not want to return from Ooty to find no rooms or horrific room rates.
To everything there is a season and my season at the Raahat Inn ENDED TODAY 16 APRIL!
So out and off goes Gimmesome Roy to the land that knows no time .. Up a trail no man could conquer to a cliff no man could climb .. 'The Search For The Perfect High' .. Shel Silverstein ..
So last week .. out and off I went .. and look .. Just look .. at what I found!
In the below photo .. of 'Downtown Kodai' .. look straight-up-the-street .. look way up the street .. in the far far distance do you see a White Building with a Red Roof way up there?
Below are closer views ..
Brilliant white and sparkling.
My you are attractive!
Isn't the John Wesley Methodist Centre just immaculate in looks?!
On the extreme right edge of the below photo do you see a green sign?
My-Oh-My! Here in the very heart of downtown Kodaikanal?
OK! Let's go-on-in for a look-see! The Book Store is what you see immediately inside the main entrance. Notice how clean and how inviting it looks.
Looking to our left below we see the book store. Note the purple table in each photo.
And looking to our right below we see more books.
In we go .. AND DOWN WE WENT!
I did NOT see the step-up! Do you see my Blue 'Zilla Cane above nicely pointing out to you what I did NOT see?
OK .. we are back across the street from the main entrance.
Go across the street and turn around 180 Degrees and look what you see directly back across the street!
Down the street looking back ..
I AM IN-THE-HEART OF DOWNTOWN KODAIKANAL.
My room is on this side of the building on the lower floor at the very far end of the building.
Do you see Mister India Bag waiting for me?
There he is .. down-the-corridor. The Methodist Centre just sparkles!
Time to go into my room for a look-see!
Below we are standing in the doorway. I have a 'double room'. As I always do in 'double rooms' .. I take the mattress from the second bed and put it onto my bed. Then I use the empty bed board for storage.
Most of my 'room' Bobbseys scramble like crazy out onto the empty bedboard!
Where did all of the above Bobbseys go!? It's MAGIC!
Looking back across my room. Nice windows that open to the outside! And how about that NIFTY table to sit at and to write YOU post cards!
The left door leads to my bathroom.
I had to shut the entry door because of the bright light entering the room.
As seems-to-be-the-norm in India .. there is no enclosed shower.
HOT WATER! This I could NOT believe!
In the lower left corner is the drain for the shower water that showers-onto-the-floor.
Looking back across the bathroom.
The John Wesley Methodist Centre is beyond IMMACULATE!
Now let's go back outside.
This is what I see immediately outside my doorway.
The building you are looking at above is a very pleasant appearing Guest House.
Looking up to the left outside of my room is the main part of downtown Kodaikanal.
To the right at the end of my corridor you see the below.
Outside of the building looking back at my corner room on the lower corridor.
Looking back up at downtown Kodaikanal.
A close-up of the building straight up from the white car on the main-street above.
Now we go around to the other side of The Methodist Center.
And looking up the driveway at downtown Kodaikanal.
When I am HOT .. I AM HOT .. and when I am NOT .. I am NOT!
I have the 'vibes' or I do NOT have the 'vibes'. With me it is ON or it is OFF!
I would like you to meet Mister A. David Raj .. THE MANAGER of The John Wesley Methodist Centre.
He BE THE MAN! And David and I 'clicked'. There is no other way to say it!
I said .. He said .. Have you a room .. Yes ..
Patti I may need to hire Bob (Robert M.) Libbey because I fell over and hurt myself when David told me the cost of a room at The John Wesley Methodist Centre!
Here in downtown Kodaikanal in the HIGH season I am going to pay 578 Rs India ($11.50 US Dollars) for my room here at the above immaculate Methodist Centre.
Captain .. when you are HOT .. my-oh-my! I now have my 'place' here in Kodaikanal!
And after moving today and writing a Post over at Dot Net and this Post .. I am about out-of-gas.
By-the-way .. the Methodist Centre is a short five or so minute walk from my Internet Cafe.
Captain you MUST do it .. press 'Publish' .
Done Deal! I am out-of-here! With Joy .. Cap
THANKS GULLIBLE for empowering me to put up this Post! Thirty Nine photos.
