In the post that follows this post .. I focus on the downtown section of Ooty. Of course .. like any city .. there is more to Ooty than just the downtown area.
Below is a series of random photographs of Ooty that may be either very close to or completely outside of the immediate downtown area.
In the below photo .. do any of you recognize the yellow and the red signs on the other side of the park?
A close-up of the two signs.
In the following photos .. you will see the Main Ooty Bus Stand which actually is on one edge of the downtown area.
The tall .. pink-colored column on the left side of the photo beside the bus is COTTON CANDY for sale by a street vendor.
By now .. those of you faithfully following along here .. know that the city we know of as Ooty .. is actually properly named on most maps as UDHAGAMANDALAM ..
Ooty is mis-named as well where the letter 'H' of UDHAGAMANDALEM is omitted!
If the above is not confusing enough .. it seems once-upon-a-time the city we are calling Ooty .. was named OOTACAMUND!
Two churches caught my eye.
St. Stephens Anglican Church is the first church below.
And below we have ..
The time has come to say that this post is as-good-as-I-can-get-it in the time I have today.
I hope you all have a good idea of what Ooty looks like outside of the immediate downtown area.
Cheerio .. Cap
