APR 19, 13 .. A LITTLE WALK IN KODAIKANAL .. PART I ..

I nearly wrote .. A WALK IN THE WOODS .. but Linda 32312 .. the pavement in Kodai in no way even vaguely resembles the Appalachian Trail!

So let's just get-on-with-the-getting-on.

Here we go! The motorcycle up on the right will be our next stop.

Notice the small green bucket way FAR up on the left and the pink building on the right.

There they are getting closer.

The green 'bucket' turns out to be a pretty green water urn! Now FOCUS on the off-blue colored litter barrel on the right below.

A lady on the left doing her washing. Now you can see we are 'going down' one of Kodai's hills. Look at the 'flowering' bush on the right down-the-hill. You 'eagle-eyed' ones may just notice something familiar way down the hill or across the valley in the distance.  DON'T STRAIN YOUR EYES!

Getting closer to the 'flowering bush'. How about now. Do you see 'an old friend or two' yet?

Now just focus on the lovely 'flowering-bush' to the right.

Notice peeking through is a nice home!

Very nice!  Patti .. Gullible .. what are they?

A quick 'glimpse' back-up-the-hill from whence we have just walked.  See the 'off blue' litter barrel on the left up there.

Now! Do you see down below an 'old friend' peeking-up-at-us?  Focus on the red motorcycle. 

You can't miss AL BAIQ now can you?

Do you see the 'little-hint' of the red motorcycle above on the below right edge. Our walk has just taken a 90 Degree turn-to-the-left.

 We walk straight to the curve and turn-around 180 Degrees and shoot a photo back up the road. Up on the left is the red motorcycle at the end of the red steps we came down. Tomorrow I plan for us to walk-down-the-road instead of the steps we just walked down.

We are now doubling-back-down the roadway. Further below are close-up photos of the two signs you see below.

More! .. In Kodaikanal it's ever ever EVER MORE CHOCOLATE!

Now we again 'double-back-down' the road.

Looking back-up-the-hill at the District Forest Office Building we passed coming down.

Having shot the above two photos from the same location .. I came very VERY close to going-down on my face.  The rock you see below is but-the-tip of a larger rock.  So instead of just kicking a loose rock away with the momentum of my foot .. I really stumbled when my foot came into contact with it.

It looks so very benign doesn't it.  It looks 'loose' but trust me .. it isn't. And it doesn't 'take-much' to cause me to lose-my-balance. I KNOW this is not the case with YOU!

Now we have walked down the road and turned around to look back up.

And there .. to our left as we look up-the-hill .. is our old friend and my favorite restaurant .. AL BAIQ!  IF you were to go back up to the 12th photo above .. you will see the orange building with the green stairway.  The one below just above the word BAIQ that I looked up at from my room at the Raahat Inn.

We've gotten to the bottom of this portion of our walk and look across the road at AL BAIQ.

I plan to do another Post of this tomorrow.  I  have a distinct choice as I began this walk to come the way I have just shown .. or to stay on the roadway you see that I intersected with in the 14th photo above with the red motorcycle.
