If you have lived on the North side of Detroit, Michigan, for any considerable length of time, I was born and raised on Detroit's North side for 17 years, then there is a good chance that just the name Cranbrook will ring a "bell of familiarity".

JUL 5, 24 .. FROM GUEST CONTRIBUTOR GINNY .. FIREWORKS IN LAUGHLIN, NEVADA ..

Our friend Ginny, down in Laughlin, Nevada, sent us the below 4th of July fireworks photos and we wanted to share them with you.

But first a fun story. 

In the first photo below, please notice the "Green Building" in the distance.

The Green Building is the Tropicana Laughlin, one of the many pleasant hotels in Laughlin. 

Last November of 2023, it was night, as Patti and I were driving South along Bruce Woodbury Drive back to our Edgewater Hotel from Tom and Ginny's apartment, Patti saw the Tropicana Laughlin and squealed, "Cap! They painted the Tropicana Green! It used to be white!"

I don't recall if I said anything or not that instant. But the next day when we again were heading South, Patti said, "They repainted it white!"

Somewhere "in the mix" I said to Patti, "At night they shine Green Floodlights on the Tropicana!"

Patti giggled. I giggled. I'll bet Ginny and Tom may be giggling as they read this Post! I don't think they have heard Patti's Green Tropicana Hotel story.

JUL 2, 24 .. GMA STANDS FOR "GOOD MORNING AMERICA (abc)" .. SEA OTTER FUR BABY ADOPTION..

Like many of us, even Your Captain, from time to time, does just a little "Internet Surfing"!

And this morning, "Google" got me! 

First I asked Patti if she thought that I should "Click Onto" the below item waiting patiently just for me. 

Patti said "Oh Yes!". 

And so I "Clicked Onto" the above link.

JUN 22, 24 .. BEAUTIFUL NORTHERN ARIZONA.. GUEST CONTRIBUTOR.. MIKE N. 86403..

In some ways, in terms of different scenery, the State of Arizona almost "has it all". 

Some people think that the entire state is a Desert. 

The Desert Only Mindset of Arizona would not fit the amazing Arizona Grand Canyon would it?

Yes! I know! Technically the Grand Canyon is a semi-arid desert! 

Nor would the Desert Only Mindset of Arizona fit the 10,000 foot elevation of the Arizona Snow Bowl to the North of Flagstaff AZ!

A few weeks ago Mike was visiting Flagstaff, AZ. One of his friends suggested to Mike that he visit the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Nature Preserve, just a few miles to the South and West of Flagstaff.
