Our friend 'Zilla asked me about the 'large piles of snow' that I have shown in previous posts and 'how they occur'.
To refresh you on these large piles-of-snow .. below are two photos of them.
Up here in Alaska .. we have Alaska-Sized ('Zilla Sized?) Snow Plows!
"Cap .. That's a front-end-loader!"
"Yes .. A large one 'Zilla!"
Another large pile of snow.
"Well my friend 'Zilla .. you asked me about the origins of the large piles of snow .. above and below is your answer!"
You can see that our snow is now 'melting'.
Melting or not .. there is still 'ample' snow up here at the end of the month of March!
Below is what the above view from our living room looked like a week or so ago. Quite a difference!
The following two photos below show the same tree today and a week or so ago.
In the below photo you can see that a week ago there was much more snow on the above tree. In the photo below you can also see that there was much more snow on the surrounding ground as well!

The below photo looks out from our living room onto our backyard. You can see that the snow is indeed melting.

Note at the right side of the above photo another pile-of-snow!
We call the melting-of-the-snow 'Break Up'. As you can see in the below photo it is a bit-of-a-WET-MESS!
In sections of the road that are relatively 'dry' .. much of the road surface is still icy and very 'slick'.
More water and more piles-of-snow.
Now you see it (my truck under the snow) a week or so ago.
Now you don't (see it under any snow) today.
'Zilla e-mailed me today saying .. in effect .. "Cap you can have the snow and you can have the cold. Today it is 70 Degrees and dry in the High Desert in California!"
'Zilla I WILL TAKE IT!
Smiles from Cap and from Patti
I wish I knew why today Blogspot has allowed me to post ALL of the photos in this post in the Extra Large Size! It has been MONTHS since I have been able to post the XL Sized photos that I really prefer!
Say goodbye to snow. Usually the first snow is cause for joy. Later, however, when the sidewalks and driveways need to be freed from the snow, the joy quickly turns into a burden and the duty to liberate the side roads to the owners of houses and land often becomes an annoying setback.
ReplyDeleteNow where would we all be without Google Translate .. Smiles .. Cap
