WHEN I SAT DOWN TO WRITE THIS POST I HAD NO IDEA OF WHAT WAS COMING. I JUST TOOK THE ACTION TO BEGIN TO WRITE ..
Go figure .. Google's 'Word Check' does not want me to spell barbeque the way that I think it should be spelled .. barbeque ..
Oh by-the-way .. My on-line dictionary spells it barbeque ..
OK .. It can and it is also spelled barbecue and THIS the Google 'Word Check' approves of.
The Time Has Come The Walrus Said ..
The Time Has Come to: Call In The Judge and The Time Has Come to Call In The Jury for a formal decision on this 'Thorny Question' ..
Google 'Word Check' I rest my case! What does it read below?
You what? You want to appeal this to another authority .. I will humor you .. I present you the below spelling of barbeque ..
Have you all heard of Julia Cameron?** She wrote the book .. 'The Right to Write' .. In the book she states .. my disclaimer is that this is from memory and it is not an accurate quote ..
Writers do NOT sit around waiting for the inspiration to write.. on the contrary.. the ACT of writing calls forth the words ..
JUST IN CASE THIS SLIPPED PAST YOU I WILL REPEAT ..
Writers do NOT sit around waiting for the inspiration to write.. on the contrary.. the ACT of writing calls forth the words ..
This is what I am doing right-here right-now. I am just writing. I am not waiting for the inspiration to write to strike me. Here is the odd thing .. this is not going to be a 'text intensive' post nor is it going to be a long post. It is only going to show a few photographs of a Mongolian Barbeque here in Ulaanbaatar MONGOLIA.
"What's that you ask of me 'Zilla?" .. "Where are the photos of my food?"
And Now .. taa-daa .. The Rest Of This Story ..
After I finished shooting the above photos .. it was Sunday night after four super .. and I mean SUPER intense days .. as I reached for a plate to begin to help myself to All-I-Could-Eat .. I was suddenly and I was instantaneously and I was totally and I was absolutely overcome by fatigue.
I told one of my friends that I was not going to be able to stay and I left ..
I hailed a taxi cab ..
And we headed back to my hotel ..
With a very happy taxi driver who I found out later .. was chortling and giggling to himself about how he was going to put-it-to-me as to the fare that he was going to charge me.
The TOTAL fare I paid was .. 10,000 Mongolian Tug .. US $ 5.07. In the US you can't even look at a taxi for $5.07. Little did he know that I was chortling and I was giggling to myself thinking I would have gladly paid him double this amount as badly as I was feeling. The honest fare I found out later was about US $2.75.
I nearly asked him IF I could lie down in the back and take a short nap.
Like each and almost all Mongolians I have met .. he was a remarkably happy and pleasant man.
BOTTOM LINE: It was a win-win situation..
Do you look good-to-me ERIN HOTEL ..
The below photo shows you one of the best beds that I have ever-in-my-lifetime crashed down into ..
All of this because I just sat down and I just began to 'crank-away' here ..
So Much Joy I May Just Evaporate .
Sign Me .. Kanbaatar .. In my Mongolian Bearskin Coat ..
Now some of the Very-Best-For-Last ..
** Below are just a very few of Julia Cameron's thoughts.
I suggest this as my source ..

From Julia Cameron:
- Perfectionism is not a quest for the best. Perfectionism is a pursuit of the worst in ourselves, the part that tells us nothing we do will ever be good enough.
- I have learned, as a rule of thumb, never to ask whether you can do something. Say, instead, that you are doing it. Then fasten your seat belt. The most remarkable things follow.
- When we put the pen to paper, we articulate things in our life that we may have felt vague about. Before you write about something, somebody says, 'How do you feel?' and you say, 'Oh, I feel okay.' Then you write about it, and you discover you don't feel okay.
- My work unblocks people, and then I look at the work that they do, and I think, 'My God, how could they have not known they were talented? How could they have not known?'
I HOPE I HAVE GIVEN JULIA CAMERON AND MY ABOVE INTERNET SOURCE THE PROPER CREDIT FOR THESE QUOTATIONS.

Thanks to you and Julia Cameron, perhaps one more person will be inspired to pick up the pen, the paint brush, and other creative tools, and begin to create something from within. Great post ... and, your attitude about the "inflated fare" in the cab was even creative in the sense that in all respects you felt you got a good deal by just getting back to your hotel for far less than it would have cost in the USA. Rock on my dear! Patti
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU MY DEAR ONE .. Your comment stimulated me to add to the 'reference labels' for this post the word .. ATTITUDE .. and that is a very good addition. And .. Truly I did get a good deal. My-Oh-My the importance of OUR ATTITUDES .. Smiles .. and Joy .. Cap ..
ReplyDeleteI can hardly believe you walked away from an all-you-can-eat spread; you REALLY must have been all worn out. I hope you went back the next day and enjoyed all you could eat after you were well rested. Knowing you had to walk away from food, is making ME hungry. Excuse me while I make myself a sandwich,
ReplyDeleteShaddy
I hope .. a month later Shaddy .. Your sandwich was good .. I could not have enjoyed a meal Shaddy .. I would have hurt my head as it hit the table from fatigue had I even tried .. One thing I MUST DO is to listen to my body and when on the point of exhaustion .. STOP and REST as in NOW .. Smiles .. Cap..
