When we left Dayton and Carson City, Nevada, on the 31st of May 2016, Patti and I drove North through Virginia City heading back to Reno to fly South to Apple Valley, California, to visit 'Zilla and his wife.
Our stop in Virginia City was fun and well worth the time we spent there.
Here we go loop de loop, here we go loop de li.
Hello Virginia City, Nevada.
HISTORIC FOURTH WARD SCHOOL
Driving North into Virginia City, the immediate first attraction that you see on your right is the old school that you see in the background below.
The Fourth Ward School truly is an impressive sight to see.
ST. MARY'S IN THE MOUNTAINS ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
After leaving the old school above you then come to the historic St. Mary's in the Mountains Church.
Several photos of St. Mary's from a distance.
A magnificent church!
The staff in the visitor's center were so pleasant and helpful.
An enthusiastic shopper from Alaska!
MARK TWAIN MUSEUM
In the below photo the operative word is downstairs.
Close? Yes! Close-but-no-cigar for Patti at Mark Twain's Museum.
No way could Patti navigate these steps.
DELTA SALOON AND RESTAURANT
What a fun place to visit. Right out of the old West.
We did not visit the Suicide Table. We DID enjoy some iced tea!

Patti stayed in our rental car as I went in for a very quick look-see. One could spend a lot of time in this old school.
