MAY 8, 17 .. THE GRAND CANYON - PART 2 of 3 PARTS

Welcome back to my 3 Part series of Posts showing Patti and my visits to the Grand Canyon.

Here we go with Part 2 of 3 Parts.

Assumptions are so dangerous!

BUT I HAVE TO ASSUME THAT ..

You have read Part 1 of 3 Posts that I published about the GRAND CANYON (the canyon) in which I show the Desert View Watchtower and surrounding environs.

I also assume that you have read my Post on dot.net about the canyon.

Click on the below link IF you have not.

http://babakaps.net/?p=24694

At the risk of repeating myself, the GRAND CANYON is located in the Northern part of the U.S. State of Arizona almost to the border with the State of Utah.

The Grand Canyon National Park is very large.

The canyon lies North of Williams and Flagstaff Arizona.

In this Post, I am going to show you photographs that I took on Tuesday, April the 4th, 2017, as Patti and I traveled West from The Desert View Watchtower along the South Rim of the canyon.

We ended up at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center Complex. I will show that area in Part 3 which will follow this Post.

We visited Navajo Point, Lipan Point, Moran Point, Buggeln Picnic Area, Grandview Point, Pipe Creek Vista and West into The Grand Canyon Visitor Center Complex.

As I love to say : Here we go loop-de-loop!

THE SOUTH RIM OF THE GRAND CANYON ..

With no-further-adoo I present ..

THE SOUTH RIM OF THE GRAND CANYON ..

Notice the snow in the photo below.

More snow, 'hiding' in the shade.

Numerous, too many to count, informational boards.

Each one is excellent.

Personally speaking, I got kind-of-numb to the flow of constant information.

The below information board directly related to the scene in front of it.

Below is the (supposed) Duck on a Rock.

"A Duck on a Rock?' .. "If you say so!"

Rhetorical Question : IF the above scene is a Duck on a Rock, then what are we seeing below?

Answer? : A pile of rocks Captain!

Most visitors, myself and Patti included, tend to get right up near the edge of its rim to view the canyon.

In the above and below photos, I was right out on-the-edge.

Taken back-from-the-edge of the canyon's South Rim, the below photos give you an idea of their scenic beauty.

Actually, using the shrubbery to 'frame a photo' works very nicely.

Is each and every view of the Grand Canyon and / or the Colorado River magnificent and stunning?

"Dad? I think that I am magnificent and stunning!"

"Well? If you think you are beautiful, who am I to argue?"

"Cacti, up amidst some snow! What are you doing here?"

"Dad! We hearty, hardy, cacti rule Dad!" .. "After all Dad! We are in Arizona!"

Continuing to get an idea of the areas away from the edge of the canyon's rim.

As we work our way (Navajo Point, Lipan Point, Moran Point, Buggeln Picnic Area, Grandview Point, Pipe Creek Vista) going West from The Desert View Watchtower to the Visitor Center Complex, we did a considerable amount of driving on the road system that connects the individual viewing points.

Below are some random photos of the road to give you an idea of the overall wilderness and beauty of the entire area!

Yes indeed! Patti was steering as I was snapping away from time-to-time.

A little more show on the ground.

Back we go, 'peeking-over-the-edge'.

The time has come the Walrus said to take-a-break.

This is the perfect place to complete what I am calling Part 2 of 3 Parts showing photos of our visit to The Grand Canyon.

In my next post (continue to scroll down) Part 3 of 3 Posts, I will show photos of what Patti and I saw of the Grand Canyon Visitor Center Complex.

With Joy .. Cap and Patti ..
