In the United States, each year, in preparation for the Major League Baseball (MLB) season, each team begins it's season with a one month (give or take a few days) series of practice games.
Here in the greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area, there are no less than ten (10) Cactus League baseball parks serving no less than fifteen (15) MLB teams.
Detroit Tiger Tom and Ginny asked me to join them in a game or two. Luckily I had an open day this past Wednesday, free from the medical appointments that I have at the Mayo Clinic.
So, with no further adieu, have a look at the :
CAMELBACK RANCH Baseball Park, Glendale, Arizona.
Camelback Ranch is the 'winter home' for the Chicago White Sox of the American League and the Los Angeles Dodgers of the National League.
The parking lot was fairly full. Of course I did NOT snap any photos, but in order to enter both the parking lot area as well as the stadium itself, the security was extremely thorough.
Ticket please. Detroit Tiger Tom treated me to the game. Our tickets cost $12 each.
Now, finally after security, and purchasing our tickets, we are inside of Camelback Ranch Cactus League baseball stadium.
Many, if not most, of the concession stands are named after baseball terminology.
A 'Wok' is a Chinese cooking pan. In baseball terminology, when a player hits a game-winning base hit or home run, it is called a 'Walk Off' hit.
How nifty, Wok (Walk) Off Noodles.
As is the traditon with baseball games, the Umpires hold a short conference before the first pitch is thrown.
Detroit Tiger Tom, what do you suppose the 'Umps' talk about?

Looking back into the infield from the yellow, left field, foul line pole.
Number 30 below is the left fielder and his view of the infield.
The atmosphere is fun and enjoyable. Have a picnic and enjoy a little baseball too.
Tommy Lasorda was a legendary member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
If you will notice, the game is still in the top-half of the first inning. It seemed to 'take-forever' for the first inning to be completed!

Continuing our look at the field from different views, we look down the right field foul line and on to the first base side of the field.
Last, but certainly not least, below is the view from our seats.
One last look-back as we leave Camelback Ranch baseball stadium.
"Captain Oh Captain? Who won the ballgame?"
"Who cares? The games are meaningless."
"Captain!"
"With a grandslam home run late in the game, after trailing the entire game to that point, the Chicago White Sox beat the Cincinnati Reds 14-12."
