Yesterday, over on my dot.net website, I promised that I would post several photographs of our home in Manley Hot Springs, Alaska.
The photos, and this Post, are a direct response to our good friend 'Zilla who actually visited Manley Hot Springs with me way-back in year 2001. It was in September, just after the tragedy known as '911' in New York City.
When 'Zilla visited, our place was quite small. In year 2006, we had a nice addition added-onto the original cabin.
During a recent telephone call with 'Zilla, he asked if we would send him a photo or two of our Manley residence so he can visualize how it looks now.
So, as is commonly stated in many places ..
" 'Zilla, this one's for you, long time buddy since year 1975."
The below photo shows the original cabin.
Now we will see the 20-foot by 20-foot addition that we added in year 2006.
The addition is on the left side in the first three photos below.
Now we are going to walk-around our Manley home.
The addition is on the right side in the below photos.
In the above two photos, if you turn around 180 Degrees, you see the view we look out upon.
From inside looking out.
From the steps outside the above door.
A close look at the tundra we are standing upon.
Now, as we come back around to the front, the addition is on the left side of the below photos.
The below photos really show the space that we gained by putting on the addition.
The below photo looks at our 'out-house' (light cream color on the right) and at two other buildings we have on the property that we use for storage.
Our two storage buildings.
At one time I was considering moving one of these up against the cabin to make an addition.
A close-up photo of the above building.
"Gee Dad! Thanks for calling me a building!"
Standing on our front porch, looking back down the above driveway in the winter.
The below two photos do not do justice to the road into the property. It is far worse than it looks below.
Although I did not do a photo-shoot of the interior of our small home, the two photos below show our two beds.
Well?
That-Is-That for our 'Zilla photo shoot of our small home up in Manley Hot Springs, Alaska.
