Early this afternoon, Patti and I were getting ready to go out and run some errands.
Suddenly Patti cried out from our bedroom..
"Cap! Come in here! There is a mother moose and her yearling out on our front porch!"
I did not jump and run into our bedroom. First, I grabbed my camera then dashed into our bedroom.
To orient you just a little bit, below are several photos looking out from our bedroom window.
Notice on the extreme right edge of each of these two photos, the steps and the iron hand rail leading up to our front entryway porch.
Well Hello Mother Moose (on the right) and Hello Yearling.
Yes, the below photo is a tad blurry, but you get the idea. The yearling Moose has backed away from its mother and is heading for our bedroom window.
Whoa! Hello yearling!
We couldn't believe this encounter!
IF we had the window open, the yearling might have stuck its head into our bedroom.
Then the two of them ambled away heading to the left and wandered up the street. I (for only one micro-second) thought I'd step out front and follow them. Then sanity returned! IF one values their life, one does not get near, nor interfere, with a mother moose and her offspring.
Smiling .. Cap and Patti
Wow! What an up-close-and-personal visit from the neighborhood moose, how fun :) They were stopping by to welcome you back from your trip!
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much Eryn for taking the tme to look at the post and leaving a comment. YES, the moose were up-close-and-personal. We feel if we had opened the window, the yearling moose would have stuck his head in to see if we had anything more interesting in here than was being found outdoors! Aunt Patti and Cap
