OCT 10, 21 .. ALASKA'S BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAIN SCENERY .. DENALI / MT McKINLEY

In this life, sometimes you just ask yourself to take a few deep breaths, and get on with a project even though you are uncertain as to where you will get and what the project will look like.

In this case I am trying to post some (I think) beautiful photos that Patti and I enjoyed seeing and snapping on our recent trip North from Anchorage, Alaska to Fairbanks, Alaska (360 miles), and then from Fairbanks to Manley Hot Springs (160 miles).

The problem is this : Some of the photos I snapped with my Nikon Coolpix L31 and some of them I snapped with my Samsung Galaxy A10 Smartphone.

Getting photos from the Nikon Coolpix L31 into a post is very straight forward and is something that I have ten years of successful experience doing. For one thing, during this process, I have nicely numbered thumb nail images of each photo in my Nikon Coolpix.

Getting the photos from the Samsung Galaxy A10 into my computer is an entirely different matter. I have been totally unable to master (a supposedly easy process) transferring photos directly from the Samsung Galaxy A10 into my laptop.

The process that I have developed is this : I (one photo at a time) send a photo (via email) to myself from my smartphone. Then I open my email and download the photo from my email into my Downloads folder in my computer.

And? I do not have a thumbnail image of the photos in my Downloads folder. Instead I have a fourteen (14) digit number. So I have to figure out which photo belongs to which fourteen (14) digit number. If you think that organizing the photos is easy, please come and sit beside me and show me the easier way.

OK. Below you will see (and I hope) enjoy my efforts to show you some photos of Mount McKinley (also known as Denali up here in Alaska).

The below Wikipedia link will give you a lot of information about Denali.

"Please Captain, show us some photos!"

To get from Anchorage, Alaska, to Fairbanks, the most direct way is to drive North up the Parks Highway.

The first photos below were taken before we reached the Denali Mountain area, about 135 miles North of Anchorage. They show what the Parks Highway looked like on a beautiful Autumn Wednesday, September 29th 2021.

In the above and below photos, in the far distance, you can see the white snow of Denali.

Denali plays a little peek-a-boo with you as you motor North.

Now we have arrived at the Denali viewing area.

Our trusted steed, our 1999 Chevrolet Suburban.

Now some photos of Denali.

You can't imagine how rare it is to see such a clear view of Denali.

In Patti's 58-1/2 years in Alaska, this was (in Patti's words) the MOST spectacular Mt. McKinley day EVER in being able to see it for mile after mile, on and on and on!

It is usually obscured, at least in part, by clouds that cover its peak.

Well there you have it! We are happy with how this post evolved and how it worked out.

We hope you have enjoyed it.

Smiles and Hugs .. Cap and Patti
